right. if Ryback was so over why did they have to completely repackage him after the angle? nobody gave a shit about Skip Sheffield.
I remembered Heath Slater was in it from the one or two times I saw Nexus, was shocked to see Ryback was too when I retroactively watched some stuff from that era.
Its pretty clear Ryback has a very high opinion of himself. If he was so talented he would have been gobbled up by New Japan or ROH already
Any interview/quotes I've read from Ryback is that he thinks extremely highly of himself as a star performer. I believe he told Vince he could be as big as Cena if given the chance.
Can someone give me a rundown on what the Nexus angle was and how/why Cena would have tanked it? Missed all of that, but I always see clips from it. Wasn't CM Punk involved too?
Quick summary: -NXT crew feels disrespecter by wwe roster and bands together for payback. The capper was Michael Cole constantly shitting on Daniel Bryan -They beat the shit out of the main event on a Raw and tear down the ring to end it. Vince saves some money on his roadcrew that night. -Nexus vs. Cena happens for months with Nexus mostly jobbing. -Some shit happens where Cena is forced to join Nexus -Cena no sells his role in Nexus cause RAPADOO -Another Cena/Nexus thing happens where Cena buries the entire stable. Somewhere in there Ryback went away shortly because he was made out of glass. Eventually CM Punk becomes the leader but nobody gives a shit about Nexus by that point.
The first night of Nexus was exciting but them getting rid of Bryan after that first segment for choking the guy with his own tie killed them before it started.
Holy shit what a main event. Smackdown is just nailing it. Simple story lines, great matches, very NXT-esque
that was a great show... Alpha with a quick title change hope they are booked strong I think that was Naomi under the mask Triple threat was so good. I'll take AJ vs Cena again.
Don't follow NXT closely anymore so I don't know much about her, but Twitter seems to think it is Deonna Purrazzo
I'm on my phone so hard to post but someone posted a closer up shot of her side by side with Purrazzo and it did look pretty close
Smackdown is seriously lapping Raw at this point. It's all about the little things too. Simple but logical storylines. Clear motivations. An actual plan for month to month.
The influence of the head writer is obvious. Triple H brought him over from NXT and a lot of the same "keep it simple, stupid" booking approach that worked on Wednesday nights is working now on Tuesdays.
The mask thing was a great way to get Becky away from the title picture but still give her something to do. This is something RAW is so bad at. For the most part if a belt isn't involved, there's no story. So who is moving on to challenge Bliss next? Nikki?
Meh. I think it would make more sense if Cena lost. He says he's got something to prove (on Talking Smack he's already said this), and he's tired off being doubted. Says he'll put it all on the line, retirement match with Taker at Mania.
Also, AJ and Ziggler are just amazing sellers. There were multiple times last night I thought one or both of them were really hurt and their spots all throughout the match were amazing. Also Smackdown is doing a great job of getting Corbin over.
Speaking of selling hurt, I could tell that Bliss was double jointed in her elbow when I saw it, but it was still an effective ploy, looked wrong.
He can really move and his move set is really coming along. I really like when he slides under the corner as a counter.
