Not sure it matters unless the midfield gets sorted, unless they help out the defense we were screwed regardless of who we bought.
United start a Valencia Bailly Blind Jones backline, don't see personnel as the problem. Midfield otoh needs a Santi clone in the worst way
More pointless tactics but I think we'd be better off with a 3-3-3-1 or a 4-4-2 diamond. Park 2 mids or base of the diamond in front of the back line and do not fucking move forward. Do not concede, bank on Alexis, Özil, or Laca to do something special. Let the deep sitting midfield give the D an option to pass out
(I can't believe I'm about to say this) honestly, put Coq in at DM, tell him here are his options (in order): pass to Ozil, pass to Ramsey, Pass to a flank if both of those guys are covered and pass it back to a CB. And you're never allowed to get more than 10 yards ahead of the CBs.
I prefer the just defend and make yourself invisible when we're in possession for Coquelin Another great Wenger idea was trying to turn him into a b2b last year
Wenger only has one type of midfielder b2b. probably the one thing that has hurt us the most the last 10 years.
that's essentially what I'm saying. no more step-overs in the opponents box and no more "I'm totally as good as Xhaka" cross-field passes.
Not going to enjoy watching pouty Alexis and pouty Mesut for the rest of the year I'd be tempted to not even bother having them travel to bum fuck Eastern Europe
What's the point of resting either if they're just gonna leave. Still surprised that Ozil won't sign, offering him one of the highest contracts in the league when he's been shit for most of 2017. He can also double his salary for the current year.
Still really like the short term salary bump contract. Would be a win win for club and player. I'm sure Dick Law's on top of it
I wouldn't take them to away Europa games during the group stage. But make sure Theo is on the flight.
Alexis is costing us 60 mil for 1 year Play him till he breaks, he's pissed but doesn't know anything other than working hard
If he costs 60 million, make sure he's healthy for the most important games. Don't need him out for 3 months because we ran his hamstrings to the breaking point. Concentrate on PL standings until we make it through Europa group stage. Once we're in Europa knockout round, play the first team and try to win it. By that time it may be our only path back to CL.
Meh, he has little to do with them but glad he gave the go ahead. He needs to play a million x better but former players need to shut the fuck up too.
Gave me hope that things aren't quite as bad as I imagine. Spoiler I imagine they are really fucking terrible
Wenger should fix the back 4-5 and midfield before worring about lemar. Wengers only transfer tactic these days is something like "okay so the other teams score 4 goals on us every game. how can we score 5?" This is not how you win the league or even gets close.
enjoys watching things run into the ground then eventually being put down he's definitely at the right place
The Lemar saga is as embarrassing as the Liverpool performance. Either, he doesn't want us or we could have gotten him 2 months ago for a cheaper price but decided to offer above the odds at the last minute just for him to turn us down. Wenger is probably happy about the transfer window because he solidfied his power again and we're still Arsene Wenger FC.
Ready to see Reiss in the lineup sooner rather than later. Any of the Auburn contingent in this thread going to be in Clemson tomorrow?
Arseblog being nice since he's leaving, Law was a fucking bozo and good that one of Arsene's biggest allies is leaving
