Idk about paying at the top of the WR2 market, I'm not saying it is wrong or bad to do so - but there is a limit to the amount of players you can pay $20 million plus to and I can see looking for savings in that spot. On the other hand Eagles aren't going to be paying top of the QB market so that adds context here.
Devonta's WR2 on Philly but he would be the #1 option on 10-12 teams in the league right now pretty comfortably and that matters when dealing with his agent plus AJ's knee might be shot before the bigger money even kicks in on this deal. They picked up his 5th yr option, the extension doesn't kick in until '26, the Eagles love adding dummy void years so you are talking about a $20 mil plus expenditure hitting in '27/'28 when the cap looks like it could be north of $350 million
in 2026 that cap hit is going to look pretty small for a WR2 and he could elevate higher than that. it’s a good number for him
honestly posted the tweet without comment because I thought the move was pretty standard all around. didn't expect to generate much discussion.
not a lot going on. it’s either this or talk about our most recent criminal activity / our tight ends instagram likes
I think it's interesting just because of the amount really good young WRs now that are extension candidates. Waddle, Chase, Amon Ra, JJ, Ceedee, Tee. TBH Smith got a little less than I'd have figured.
that's a mighty fast lawsuit. maybe they know the sooner they file, the sooner they'll get a nice settlement check. but they haven't even treated for 2 weeks yet
used to getting those one day before the statute of limitations after two years of injections. refreshing honestly
refreshing for the insured / insurer who would rather have it behind them ASAP, I agree. might make determining potential damages hard, but might not matter in this case.
Who knows. It’s odd for sure but impossible to say why they’d move so fast and demand a relatively small number without speculating on it
It should be enough for the medical bills with plenty left over sometimes its nice to just go for the layup
There was a tik Tok during the playoffs of a chiefs player pulling out of his driveway and the neighborhood kids were out with signs wishing him luck, think it was Rice. That's sad
I mean that's good but why on earth is he living in an RV for two months? The Chargers can't be fucking bothered setting him up with a place to live? Edit: Nevermind, Harbaugh wanted to do it. That's wild.
The Belichick story on ESPN about not getting the Atlanta job is interesting. Assuming it's true about Kraft tanking him in Atlanta, that's some next level pettiness/ego for an owner to do that to a coach who turned that franchise from something with almost not history of success to winning 6 titles.
Kraft going to continue to get shit on, and if Mayo isn’t great, the amount of leaks from Belichick and his acolytes to media types trashing Kraft will become a waterfall. basically Kraft is putting his HOF status (in his lifetime) in Eliot Wolf and Jerod Mayos hands
I don't like Belichick, but if Kraft is really going around influencing owners not to hire Bill after what he got out of that 24 year relationship, that's unbelievably shitty.
Hard to believe the guy who was getting a rub and tug at a human trafficking operation is an unbelievably shitty person.
if belicheck is still dragging his Rat Pack around (mcdaniels, patricia, judge etc) then i wouldnt hire him either
I probably wouldn't, either. My posts aren't stumping for BB to get hired somewhere. They're just commenting on the Kraft parts of the ESPN story.
The amount of mental energy I expended trying to figure out how not to hate Matt Patricia, Joe Judge and Josh McDaniels in Atlanta over the course of a week was brutal. the weird youth pastor I could do nothing with. I was dreading.
The Lions are unveiling new unis today and Fanatics leaked them in an ad before they showed them anywhere. Because of course Fanatics would do that.
