it’ll either be sneed trade or an extension to free things up. or they can convert more Mahomes salary or Thuney
I think you could see a Kelce extension to lock him in till retirement. Sneed is likely on the way out though. They are DB wizards and need resources to deal with the fact they have no LT currently.
so where's fields getting traded? feels like the rams make a little bit of sense with the offensive genius and old qb
Honestly, either after Rd 1 of the draft if someone misses their pick. OR once a contenders QB shreds his knee in week 2.
Would it be crazy for the Commanders to sell their 2nd pick for a bunch of picks and then trade for fields?
I don't know how the charts value future picks, but I was surprised how the charts online suggest it was a no-brainer for Houston in terms of the value. My first reaction was that the price was pretty light to jump from 42 to 23.
Same here, definitely didn’t like it as a Texans fan, it appears i need to find some of these charts online ;) EDIT:
That 2025 2nd round pick *should* be a pretty good one I’d think. Of course the Cardinals figured our 1st rounder this year was easily gonna be in the top-10 so who knows.
Kind of seems weird for a team that probably views itself as a possible contender to trade out of a 1 without knowing who is on the board first. Or if the Vikings are doing this without knowing they have a deal already to move into the top 3 for a specific guy.
I like the Texans end of it, seems like after the top 10 or so the draft is really deep and there may not be much difference from 20-45. But I’m generally team trade down(even though the Texans pretty much made the most successful non-QB trade up in years last year)
I mean it depends on how they tier the draft. The top 11’ish is pretty firm but feels like there’s not a huge difference between 23 and 42 in this draft?
For the Texans it makes sense just as a matter of pushing out value into the future when Stroud and Anderson get expensive. For now they are able to use free agency to do what they want but in a few years they are going to need to have inexpensive players filling in more spots
Mahomes and Kelce are opening a steakhouse in KC with “private dining rooms, a world-class chef’s kitchen and a jaw-dropping meat display” this is the best day of my life
With landing Hunter our big need positions are also ones where you can draft good value slightly later. Safety and maybe linebacker.
I'm happy with the trade. I don't want to give up 2025 1st unless it's for Williams or Maye. No Vikings fan should expect contention next year, but with all the cap room opening up after this year and potentially another high first rounder in 2025, that is the year to try to get back to competing. I also think this allows them to take a QB they want at 23 if they can't get one of the top 4. That way they can get one of the premier defenders in Mitchell, Turner, or Verse at a value at 11. The defense no longer has anyone that could be forecasted as a premiere talent.
some franchise altering drafts coming up. gonna be tough for those swing and miss (which could be the majority of the picks)
I like how in the NBA a "max deal" means someone just got at least $200M guaranteed. In the NFL a "max deal" means someone probably just got $1.5M guaranteed with some weird incentives they probably won't hit.
Turner, Mitchell, Verse, Arnold Would be very surprised if they aren't the first defender. Also don't think anyone goes until 8 to ATL
Dallas turner, jared verse, quinyon mitchell, terrion arnold might be the only defenders in the top 20
Thought we’d get one more season out of AD but not surprised since he was hinting on it after winning the SB
