Doesn't seem like we have one of these yet and the lottery is coming up on May 16. This is the prize. Some of the most absurd stuff ever.
I watch no CBB at this point so I feel like Bill Simmons watching only these 15 minute YouTube vids and coming up with strong takes on who will or won't be good.
Team Odds for No. 1 pick Pistons 14.0% Rockets 14.0% Spurs 14.0% Hornets 12.5% Trail Blazers 10.5% Magic 9.0% Pacers 6.8% Wizards 6.7% Jazz 4.5% Mavericks 3.0% Chicago 1.8% Oklahoma City 1.7% Toronto 1.0% New Orleans 0.5%
Would be great athleticism for someone a half foot shorter. Holy hell at that wingspan. I’m sure Brian Hartline can somehow convince him to bypass the NBA millions, to play wide receiver for Ohio St.
i have been simulating the lottery on tankathan every day since late january. i sim until portland gets the first pick. then i'm done for the day.
look - we’re sorry for Mike Pence but the Pacers have never had the #1 pick and got fucked out of Ewing and Sampson both times they picked 2 throw us a bone
I will probably make up a bunch of fake trades that will annoy people between now and the draft because of the unprecedented nature of Wemanyama and the weirdness of this particular draft after the top pick. Just a warning.
I’m on a road tour of Midwestern diners and the patrons can’t stop talking about how much sense Wemby to Charlotte makes
I can't get worked up about getting the pick for this reason. I'd be rooting against us, too. Especially after we blatantly tanked after the break to get the worst record.
They’re gonna rig it to put Wemby with Paolo (and Franz) for the 30 year anniversary of rigging it to put Webber (Penny) with Shaq.
Anyone have any opinions on the Thompson brothers from Overtime Elite? They're old for being one year out of HS and that "league" seems really weak compared to college or the G League. I've seen some people love them and have them top 3-4 but neither of them can shoot and that seems like a problem.
I’ve never seen them but they’ve been coached for the last two years by Dave Leitao and there’s no coming back from that
Think the more lead handler one has a chance to be really good. Although his profile reminds me of Dante Exum coming out. Might be more athletic though. Not being able to shoot is tough though. Spurs or OKC might be a good system for either to end up in to learn. Supposedly they were too athletic apparently for Overtime Elite.
I've seen some people who love Amen comp him to Ja, which seems very rich. There's a difference between "not a good shooter" and "can't shoot," and I'd be terrified of taking anyone who falls into the latter category. Scoot Henderson seems to fall more into the former. Anything after the top 2 in this draft seems like playing the lotto with a big chance of getting a bust.
Brandon Miller can drive, he can shoot, he knows how to set up teammates to take a shot. Think he's gonna be good.
I don't want to hear any whining from you once my Magic get that one pick and become the best young team since the OKC (Durant, Westbrook, Harden, Ibaka) days.
