Gibbons if it was the other way around there would be a post from you about 10 seconds after news broke. Stop it.
I've known you for a while gibbs so it's hard for me to believe your capable of self-awareness but hey I guess we all mature.
Revisiting this thread, I've thought it for a while but now that the country found out who Rashod Bateman is last Saturday, I think he is a first round draft pick in another year. He looked good as a freshman but he has had an absolute breakout year as a sophomore. Our other primary receiver is a senior that was #2 in the conference in receiving yards (1169) last year and will be drafted but Bateman has taken over and leads the B1G in receiving. 38/847 (22.3 avg). He is a stud. His hands, agility, quickness and speed are all on display in highlights from our first game this year.
we wanted him bad, but we slowplayed him and it burned us. He was more passionate about basketball as many dominant WRs are. Knew he was going to be a stud for yall. Even though Bankz dies on the hill that Tyler Johnson is better of the duo.
I love me some Tyler Johnson. Kid is a stud. But I also talked up Rashod in a big way. Rostered him as a true freshman and tried to tell everyone he was going to gave a big year. I clearly remember being mocked for it. Both those kids are NFL prime talent.
No knock on Tyler but he doesn't have Bateman's upside. Johnson is solidly built, runs great routes, expertly shields defenders and has a great vertical. What he lacks is high end speed to take the top off the defense. His upside is maybe Keenan Allen. Bateman really benefited from a year in the weight room to start breaking more of the ankle tackles that narrowly caught him as a freshman. I think he'll continue to develop the route precision and some of the things Tyler does but his speed is the difference between a 1st rounder and a 3rd rounder. He also has better/more consistent hands than Tyler who makes the great catch in traffic but has been known to drop the easy one trying to get a started running after the catch.
this thread title doesn't feel like it was 6 years ago but time doesn't make sense anymore so what do I know
That’s nothing, Miami has a tight end from the 2016 class…who still has two years of eligibility. Not even Mormon.
