I definitely would have preferred he stayed on the team, but he's not a very naturally fluid basketball player....it seems like everything is more difficult than it should be for him other than nice open dunks, which started to make me think he may have a low ceiling. There were also several games where people here wondered if he was shaving points he was playing so dumb. But, I would have preferred to see what he could have done with Diebler.
I honestly think Middleton is a bigger loss than Gayle for the reasons you laid out here. Middleton had a way higher ceiling imo. Gayle is a replacement level Guard.
No clue who that is but if you gave me the name Brantford Winstonworth that is the exact headshot I’d provide you.
Jamal Berry sighting :) thought this kid was going to be the next great pro based on how hyped The Bank was about him
We currently project for 9 scholarship WRs on the roster for 2024. I predict we drop to 5-6 by August. Egbuka, Tate, Innis, Smith, and Graham will stay. Rodgers should stay, but he already went in and out of the portal briefly. Ballard, Grayes, and Antwi aren’t going to play with Innis/Tate having two years and Smith three.
I feel like we only lose one of them although I am not sure why. No chance that Rodgers leaves, by all reports he has had great spring camp and solified himself as one of the 5 best on the team. I really think Ballard is the likely one to leave. We are in such a tough, but good spot, in that all of the top WR's are Sophmores and then there is Smith. Means they have 2-3 years where they will be the top options.
Looks like it did. It was our new RB coach quoting Dan Lanning saying him moving on was a great opportunity for Oregon to get better. Edit- looks like it’s back up
I’m not upset about it at all. It actually allows us to go harder for 2025 WRs. If you are Antwi (3 years eligibility), Grayes (3) or Ballard (2) what is your future here? Ballard has caught 9 passes in 25 games, including zero last year in 12 games. I don’t think the other two caught a single pass in two years.
He grew up shitty but I absolutely hated that guy. Seen him play once since college for Carmen’s Crew then quit over a pay dispute
I saw him play in HS against our shitty small school, and he was underwhelming. Figured a 7 footer who was going to OSU would dominate. He did not.
It seems like the LBs are getting a lot of positive coverage this Spring. Simon played really well at the end of 2023. If Styles makes a smooth transition and Hicks figures things out, this could be one of the best defenses we have had.
also stumbled across this clip of isaac likekele, who appears to be playing in a league that plays its games in a converted courtroom
I refuse to believe that playing basketball in whatever that league is, is a better idea than starting to work a regular job in America.
While I believe that to be true for most cases, Norway would be a pretty nice place to live and work for a few years while you're young
I haven’t seen it since Ohio legalized sports gambling, but when I was working up in CT I saw some sort of Honduran basketball league lines on draft kings or fanduel and it had a live stream. The court looked like the one in that video but was a brownish background instead of black and it looked 30+ years old. They clearly had some problems with the court because while the random wood squares lined up, the paint lines/lanes would randomly have a different color mixed in. Fortunately due to a lack of information available on the internet about the league I decided not to place any bets. I also did my orientation a few weeks ago with a guy originally from Norway. AMA
