who gives a fuck about their satisfaction. You get the satisfaction of just having to pick it up and not go through more shit to get one. They don't make all that much money off just one sale anyway and that isn't really their fault what they did that's just the lay of the land with used cars and ESPECIALLY little sports cars in this economy. People just can't afford them as an extra car nearly the way they used to. It wouldn't be worth it for them to give you what you need for the TT and they just couldn't do it. Yeah it sucks but it's really no fault of theirs. They are a business and they have to at least try to make money every time and they can't really offer what it's worth with how everything is right now. Would you have felt any better if they just told you no we aren't interested in the TT? Probably not. Either way for them to run their business you would have been pissed. Considering you already have the Jeep deal done I'd just go ahead and buy it. It's a large dealer near you and you really want the Jeep. Why not make it convenient for you by going ahead and picking it up?
Oh, I forgot part of it that pissed me off. When I talked to him yesterday, I asked him why so many 2012 Cherokees were listed online waaaaaaaaaaaay under what MSRP was. For instance, I mentioned this car: http://www.cars.com/go/search/detai...pp=50&feedSegId=28705&aff=national&listType=1 and told him I'd need a damn good reason to buy new over that deal. He said he could get a new one close to that. Well, his "best offer" was $3k off invoice on one that was $43k, so right at $40k. The only problem was it was the EXACT same car, color and all, as above EXCEPT the one above had: - Upgraded engine from 3.6 V6 to 5.7 HEMI AND - 4x4 That's $4k worth of worthwhile shit. Will we ever use the 4x4 in it? Prolly not, but it's there and will help resale value. The upgraded engine is HUGE, imo. The 5.7 had noticeably more power than the 3.6. Still mad I can't get the 5.7 in the Wrangler. So yea, his best offer was still higher than the same exact care with the 5.7, 4x4, and 950 miles.
My ordeal with the dealer was much different. I'd lost a family member and been in a bad accident all in the week prior. I was discussing the will over the phone and the the sales woman wouldn't shut the fuck up while I was on the phone about getting me to buy the car that day after I'd told her 100 times I was on a personal call and wasn't discussing buying the car right then. I asked for another salesman and they told me I already had one so I just left.
MOPAR is coming out with a 6.1 and 6.4 kit that if you get the dealer to put it in would still have full warranty on it With the 950 mile car it is used. They can't beat that deal it'll drop 5K the second you drive it off the lot and that's what happened to that one. I'd be weary as fuck buying a car with that few miles on it. Why the hell would it already be traded in?
If there aren't gonna be more than 4-5 of y'all that's plenty of room in those new F150's haha. You really should test drive one for the hell of it though, that turbo V6 is crazy fun to drive.
I'm not following your logic. Why does what the car is matter? All that matters is what it sells for. I have access to Manheim and OVE (sister sites) and I can see auction values for TT's across the country. Economy this, small car that, bottom line is the 6 month avg sale is $16k. That's the facts. I don't give a shit if I'm trading in a small car or a school bus. I just want something close to fair value. I realize they need to make money so I'm not expecting $16k for it but something in the $14k range is not too much to ask for. Anything less and I'm getting my head knocked off.
Yea, but it's like an $18k option on the Wrangler. It's $1,695 to go from the 3.6 to the 5.7 in the Cherokees.
You can get a brand new 6.4L for $6400 (you can find brand new ones occasionally for $2k and less off dropped vehicles) http://www.ebay.com/itm/2012-Dodge-...Parts_Accessories&hash=item1c28102805&vxp=mtr That'd be 500hp/tq versus just 375 for the 5.7l. The kit/transmission/installation could all be had/done for around 7. So basically 14K you have a fucking monster. I'm going to look until I find a new one for around 2-4K and I'm going to buy one after I get my JK. A guy got the 6.2L escalade engine brand new from a roll off for $1200 and is putting it in his jeep. It is rare but you can find deals like that on the Hemis as well. When I get the JK I'm going to contact the guy he got his motor from and get him to contact me when he gets in a 6.4. The difference in power, sound, appeal, driving satisfaction definitely makes it worth it. Plus if you look at the resale of the Hemis they keep their value
It did cross my mind to buy an 07 or 08 JK with 100k miles on it with the intent of swapping over to a 6.4 HEMI. Would be so sick. Downside is the difference in inteior from those to the 2011's is massive. Plus you have to come up with $15k~ cash to do the swap.
Yeah I wouldn't buy an 07 or 08 anyway because the build quality from 2010+ is MUCH better than the prior models. The new ownership fixed a lot of the wrongs with the jeeps and they are much MUCH nicer now. I inherited a 2010 quad cab ram that's loaded I'm going to sell privately to fund my mods haha. KBB has it valued at over 30k which I can't imagine getting but I'd be EXTREMELY happy with tinyurl.com/bxvmkn2
I am going to pass on them because my next set I want to get free rotations and a warranty. Thanks though.
Maybe even Land Cruiser (for the badass soccer mom... more space, and actually built to wheel some) dbl you could get a pretty fuckin nice used (around 2006-2007) LC or Lexus LX (they're fullsize) for $40k. Cyn may even like that body style better than the new ones. And you know it'll last.
Yea, I'm not going to buy a 6 year old car bc I can't afford it new. I'd rather come down a level and buy new or fairly new.
Is there a difference in the amount of storage space behind the backseats in the 4door and 2door models?
Yeah after scrolling through some listings on autotrader I could tell a huge difference and was about to edit my post. Thanks though dbl for answering.
Welp, guess it's time for me to make a decision on if I'm going to pick up this JK or not. Current Vehicle Status : Shipment Your vehicle is being shipped. Thank you for your purchase!
I was already on the fence if I was going to go through this dealer and now this. The Jeep I ordered was delivered last week to the dealer. I've been waiting on a call from them to go pick it up. I pulled up their site today and they have the Jeep I ordered listed on their site. They haven't called me once to let me know it was in. This dealership is just full of retards. http://www.jaxcjdr.com/new/Jeep/2013-Jeep-Wrangler+Unlimited-4101ca040a0a00e001f6d1569d5a5d51.htm
Some asshole jacked my gas cap. I'm gonna get these. Anyone used either? http://www.quadratec.com/products/15006_0013.htm http://www.quadratec.com/products/15006_501.htm
I've never had to replace one but I'd go with the cheap one BC I know I'm too lazy to lock that thing everytime I get gas so the lock would be a waste.
The other day someone had taken mine off but luckily didn't steal it. My girlfriend's car doesn't even have a cap. Wish jeeps were that way.
Mine was cut clean off. I kinda wanted to get a matte finish lock over the cap anyway, so I guess now is my chance.
That's what I like about them, pretty basic, yet insanely capable vehicle. JK's have a few more bells and whistles however.
Nope. Ended up telling them to eat it and then decided to get engaged so the ring ate up most of my savings that I would use for a down payment on it. And now we're planning a wedding so that's going to push it back further. Probably should have bought it when I had the chance.
Lately when I start my jeep (2000, 4 cyl), some of the electrical components don't come on. Blinkers and radio. Anyone know immediately what's wrong?
Historically, Jeep has done the bare minimum regarding grounding their electrical circuits, so the standard first fix after checking your fuses would be to check the grounds to the system and add additional ones, but I'm not sure if that applies to the TJ's as well. So, check your fuses, check fusible links (if there are any) and if those are okay, check your blinker relays.
This is lame but all I know about working on cars is changing tires and oil. Is there a website you know of that can help walk me through checking fuses and grounds?
im looking at doin an engine swap in my 97 tj. need something other than the shitty 2.5. thinking about 3800, 4.0, 4.3, 305 or 350. obviously want the easiest one to switch but everyu time i read the web bout it its mixed results. recommendations?
