It seems the consensus is that woman’s family does have generational wealth so do we now approve of her decision to marry who she chose? None of us know any of the parties involved but we should be sure everyone is on the record of their opinion on who she marries, particularly when considering the financial implications.
$150 million net would do it. $40 million would probably last one generation depending on number of kids. Let's just say 3 kids and each have 2 kids, that's over a million in college tuition. 2 million in private school tuition. Let's say they're all girls, there's a million in wedding costs. Now we're broke
you may think 150m is generational but it’s not. you spend $30m a year on candles and that money dries up really quickly
his main argument is $40m isn’t technically unlimited money and to be fair he’s got us there. genius at a work
Average private schools is 12k in the US. $2million among 6 kids would be 25k per year if you start in kindergarten.
i think he’s right that $40m isn’t generational as long as we are operating on the assumption that someone dumb enough to spend $1m on college tuition and $2m on private school is the one controlling the purse strings on the $40m
I am not agreeing with ole Tammy that $40M isn’t generational, as it absolutely is. But, that private school tuition number is a gross underestimate when looking at major metro areas. I understand what an average is, but that’s a little disingenuous to throw out that number. The average private school tuition in Nashville is over $20k
just to clarify i wasn’t saying it’s not possible to spend that much on private school i was saying it’s dumb to spend that much on it and completely irrelevant to the original discussion
$40mm can make you $2mm/yr easily by just waking up. I think you’ll be ok paying $20k in private school tuition without going broke
It’s a true shame that this argument isn’t happening in a thread with greater traffic, because it’s one of the dumber positions ever taken in this board.
How does he not understand that you can invest the money is like the most safe shit ever and not touch to principal and even add to it and if you have a year where you don’t/can’t then banks are very down to extend lines of credit to people with millions of dollars
