Imagine playing the best back 9 of your life to force a playoff and then hitting that shot into the water.
undrtow Played Lookout Mtn for the first time since I was probably 13-14 years old last Friday in their PreMasters tourney. Seems like the reviews I've heard had been mixed but I liked it mostly. I couldn't really remember a ton since it had been so long. They took out almost every tree on the interior of the course so you can see a ton and the views are great. Lot of elevated greens that will leave you boned if you miss either way. Greens are pretty big though. I played pretty well. Had 2 doubles on the back and shot 78. Wind was blowing like crazy all day. A few times I was hitting 75% wedges and 9 irons from like 160 yds downwind; into the wind was absurd. The Masters calcutta had $166,000+ in it. Scheffler's line went for $18,500.
It has been a long time since I’ve been up there but look forward to seeing the renovation. I know a few guys that are in that Calcutta
Pretty awesome day today. Walk past the gift shop in the morning with a ~3 hour wait to 7 green in time to watch Tiger/JT/Couples group walk up in some drizzly misty weather with not many people there. See Tiger stick his approach to about 4 feet. Only regret is not able to get a gnome those things looks sweet
He seemed to be. Those are some steep hills around the greens and he looked fine. Only played 9 it looked like though
First time at Augusta did not disappoint. Talked to Andy Johnson briefly by the first tee and he said the rumor is they let in an additional 5k people per day to the practice rounds and I believe it. When we first walked in right after 7, they weren’t letting people line up for the shop anymore saying it’s a 90 minute line. We got in line later around 1:30 and had everything bought and shipped before 2:30. We were standing by the practice putting green at the first tee about to walk off when Tiger’s caddie set his bag 5 feet in front of us. Saw him roll a few putts then moved over to the tee to watch him, JT, and Couples go off. From there I went solo down 10 to Amen Corner and got some great views before any crowds were out. The bathrooms at the end of the day were a nightmare, all of them had a 10 minute line. Amazing experience all around. Separately had an amazing experience at Old Barnwell on Monday. The elevation, firmness, and undulations around the greens are insane; very much reminded me of Mammoth Dunes in width but much more challenging. The staff was all as welcoming as possible and appreciative of everyone that came out. They’re currently building out the short course, lodging, and clubhouse and have the space to add about as many courses as they want, would kill to get hooked up as a national member.
I've been keeping an eye on Old Barnwell. I've had a couple buddies already play it and they said its been fun. I grew up about 30 minutes away from there (in actual Barnwell) but now live 3.5 hours
The old barnwell model is awesome. I’m two hours away and have thought about throwing my hat in for a membership when they start adding members. Big fan of what they are doing.
The merch line both mornings was out-fuckingrageous. I have to go in the main gate and pickup my badge at the PGA booth and the line for merchandise was beyond the practice/chipping green and bunkers. I went at 2pm to the #16 merch shop and maybe waited 15 minutes.
