his brother is famous for this: and his dad coached the Pistons for some of their (ongoing) shit years
not to start anything or any back and forth with you but I have never understood this take. what’s the point of being a fan if you’re not gonna feel shit when your team loses. Why aren’t you allowed to let your emotions overcome you? As a kid a cried when the teams I’m a fan of lost unfortunately as an adult I had to deal with real life so a game doesn’t hold the same weight. I’m jealous of an adult who actually can cry about a game. It means they haven’t experienced real loss yet
Crying is whatever but wearing a US Army branded shooter sleeve to a basketball game should be at minimum a misdemeanor
Took me a minute till I pictured Scheyer in my head. Looks like a nerd. Recruits well, but hasn’t won shit. Checks out.
Congratulations to the #Connecticut Huskies for joining the club of teams to beat Purdue by 15+. It was getting lonely here. You didn’t quite get to 16 like us, but you did really well.
Only reason that someone could even guess is that Storrs, Connecticut is supposedly one of the most boring college towns in the country. Still worth it though to make money and win titles.
I honestly don’t get it. Why is allowing your emotions to over come you a bad thing? Instead of being douche bags maybe you and bro can explain it to me. I don’t cry when UCLA loses because I’m jaded.
might as well just commit to unc which has the nightlife that every duke player partakes in and a much less braindead coach as well
I was responding to your assumptions about someone’s life because they may cry about a game. People cry for all sorts of reasons and it’s not reflective of whether they’ve experienced what you would consider “real loss.” that’s some bullshit
I'm the opposite of jealous of an adult who cries about their sports teams. It's entertainment. You have no personal stake in the game. Adults who have strong emotional reactions to sports are immature and sad.
Listen...I'm a lifelong Cubs fan. So is my dad. When the Cubs won the WS, I celebrated by raising my fist in the air, then calling him, and he immediately said, "now they can go back to losing", and I pretty much echoed that sentiment. That was the extent of the celebration.
that’s the part I disagreed with. I don’t disagree with the other parts. Cry away. People invest a lot of emotional bandwidth, time, and money in these deep runs. It sucks when they fall up short
And I'd say you are weird. Like...y'all don't have actual lives? Families? Things that actually effect your life? Sports simply don't matter in the grand scheme of things.
Hurleys teams always run some really complicated sets. So many options and variations. Just such an elite mind for the game.
I kinda think we’re talking past each other. I simply think people celebrating or being sad about what the team they root for shouldn’t be policed. I don’t cry when the teams I root for lose but I don’t think it’s a big deal if someone does.
cool moral posturing but the apex of being a fan is seeing a title and just casually celebrating one (especially as long as the cubs drought) by immediately complaining about future seasons is insanely weird
i can’t imagine the logic of being a cubs fan for decades and then they finally defy all logic and win it and your immediate reaction is to yawn and imagine how they’ll be bad in the future what’s the point of being a fan at that point
Cried when the Bucs won and called my pops who was the same. Braves I was so excited and had one of the coolest moments with my wife who knew it meant a lot. if the Magic were to win 2 finals games and still lose I might die edit- when my teams lose I just change to something else and move on.
this is my train of thought. If the highest of highs or lowest of lowest don’t impact you for X amount of time, what’s the point.
The whole point of sports is to be able to attach your emotions to a collective unbridled joy. To ride that rollercoaster. Imagining just stone facing the last month of NC State basketball, while saying “can’t wait for them to lose again next year!” is unfathomable to me.
this mfer is bridging the unc/state devide fuck y’all but that run is exactly why you buy in every year
I'm glad the Browns are never going to even go to the Super Bowl, let alone win one so I don't have to worry about how I would react post game.
