I kind of view trump as a bottle of jeppson's malort. Generally vile and disgusting. Can provide some entertainment value. Those who drink it inexplicably wear it as a badge of honor while the rest of us are wondering what the fuck are/were you thinking.
Watching level headed, educated people rationalize their vote for Trump is going to be one of the little joys of this election cycle. The guy is going to say more embarrassing shit before this is over too.
Can people ITT list the primary reasons they don't like Trump. I'm not doubting any of you, but I'm curious as to your specific reasons.
I think Trump is a crazy narcissist, and I don't like his politics. But I do believe he, more than any candidate in this cycle outside of Rand Paul and Bernie Sanders, will or will make every reasonable effort to hold true to his campaign platform. So in that limited sense, I have some trust in him (or as much trust as you can have in an ego maniac who has never been told "no" in his life). I think he is a safer bet than Cruz and Hillary in terms of keeping us out of wars and scaling back US imperialistic foreign policy. However, I think his economic policies, particularly his restrictions on trade, would be disastrous. Not on the same level as Bernie, but a disaster nonetheless. If I had to vote between the two, I would vote for him over Hillary to avoid what an unprecedented imbalance on the SCOTUS, which would have irreparable consequences.
He's the type of guy who goes on national TV and accuses his opponent's father of meeting with Lee Harvey Oswald prior to the JFK assassination based on a National Enquirer story. That kind of sums it up for me.
he is batshit crazy, cries like a baby when offended and pretty much this this is the worst year of candidates in history tho.
He said he'd force our military to commit war crimes and would change libel laws to protect him from evil journalists. That's enough for me, thanks
There is literally a 50 page thread on trusting Hillary. He comes to this thread and wants Hillary included. Some people are really struggling to rationalize the fact that they are going to vote for Trump.
Yes. Just want you to admit Team Neither are the distressed republicans that are coming to grips with admitting they will vote Trump. If you voted in the other thread, see no reason you cant at least go on record in this thread.
- no political experience at all, it's like giving a college kid a contract to be the QB of a NFL team and he's never played football - way too hawkish - divisive - proposing unreasonable tax proposals - disingenuous with his political stances - goes against my political interests and my race/culture's interests His platform has changed a bit iirc His foreign policy is terrifying, saying he'd kill women and children is going to only inspire more hatred overseas I get the SCOTUS thing though. Don't necessarily agree, but I do understand. 12-16 years of Dems and replacing what could be 6 justices overall over that time is a huge, dynamic shift
going from being a by-the-gospel libertarian to voting for a neo-fascist has got to hurt, esp with your guy Gary Johnson sitting there. and I dont think a 5-4 liberal majority in the court would be unprecedented. Unless you had amnesia learning about the Warren court.
I trust neither which is why I'm voting independent, but I don't want more liberals in the Supreme Court. The next president will probably have at least two justices to replace.
Well RBG, Breyer, and Kennedy are all old. I guess if you replace them that isn't much of a shift. Plus Nino. Obama already added 2. 6-3 lib-con is pretty strong
There isn't a guarantee that HRC would even nominate liberals. Plus there's the whole thing of having to be confirmed
Trump is a fucking idiot, but the media wouldn't allow this to happen. It would be article after article and lawsuit after lawsuit and if he has any skeletons in his closet those are going to be dug up.
I don't trust that he'd do a good job, no. I think that if you polled the general electorate, you'd find that more people believe Trump actually cares about America, while Hillary only cares about Hillary. FTR I think they're both a couple of narcissistic liars.
Yes, but I expect the house and senate to flip democrat after four years of nothing happening. This is mainly due to a democrat president and a republican congress, but with both on the same side there really aren't any checks and balances anymore. She'd be free to do what she wanted. That being said, I'm not voting for either so it doesn't really matter.
It would take wholesale slaughter at the polls to turn the house Democrat. I don't see that happening.
You think? That's just my expectation. Maybe the house stays republican but the senate flips. I think people are more mad at congress right now than the president.
The dude who values his own name at 4 billion and plasters it as big as he possibly can across buildings cares about America, but Hillary Clinton who has taken part in the United States government as First Lady, Senator, and Secretary of State, cares about herself. I respectfully disagree.
