What's everyone's view on phones right now. I've got an S21. Do I roll Samsung S24 or Pixil 8? Never had a Google phone. Is any AI stuff interesting wrt phones? Seems verizon charges $5 extra for some dumb reason, IDK
Pixel. Camera is awesome, too. I only have a 6a and it's still fantastic. Wife has a 6 Pro that is much nicer, although I don't care for anything that big.
My 7xl is awesome Wife getting the new Samsung soon, it looks cool but I get annoyed with Samsung stuff
What annoys you? Preloaded apps? Yeah, the 6.2" screen is big enough. Not sure if I want the S24 of Pixil 8. Every review is basically a tie
I've just always had regular Google phones so the Samsung stuff bothers me but it's like a 1/10 complaint
I'll be in the market to replace my 6a Pixel this fall, excited to see if the Pixel 9 takes a big leap forward with AI features.
4XL still works awesome but will probably want to upgrade just to get a better camera before Grand Canyon szn
I would not be scared to use Swappa or similar. I've sold a bunch of phones on there over the years, and bought two. Both were as described, and it was a good experience. The refurbished ones on Amazon and elsewhere have been good for me, too. Never had a processing power issue with my 6a.
If not for that shitty overlay Samsung puts over Android, I likely would have only purchased Samsung phones. I love pretty much everything else Samsung makes.
I upgraded from the 2xl to the 3xl around the time I got married. Literally got it the day we flew out for our honeymoon to Tahiti & Bora Bora.
i switched the iphone and will be switching back when i can upgrade. the way the iphone handles notifications fucking blows. The ability to make stickers does not make up for it.
My biggest problem is their home screen. I have an iPad they gave me at work and it really triggers my OCD. I don't get what the point of a wallpaper is if it's covered by every app installed on the device
There's also not individual volume sliders for alarms, notifications and media which drives me absolutely insane.
Let's not forget the hot garbage that is iMessage. "Of course we can't do this because you have an Android."
being able to make stickers out of photos is neat but otherwise I haven’t noticed any functionality improvements
Anyone have issues with P6P screen? My wife's just started doing this weird green/grey thing tonight. Similar to the video in this reddit post:
No, but our 6 Pro and 6a are still having connectivity issues (doesn't pick up Fi network after getting off wifi).
My 6 was probably the worst phone I've owned in a long time. Constant rebooting after getting off wifi and failing to pick up mobile network. Mobile network connection just randomly dropping. So many missed calls and texts.
idk if this will help anyone else, but wife and I still have s22 Ultras bc the 23 wasn't much different and the 24 wasn't either. Wife's started going slow, pretty normal for a 2 year old phone. She logged on to file a claim on the Verizon/Asurion site and they didn't have any 22 Ultra so they offered a 24 Ultra as a replacement for the $99 replacement cost. Sure beats paying $700 through Samsung with the trade in of the 22. I jumped on and did the same.
Verizon has a bunch of free upgrade promos. Got a new Pixel 8 Pro and traded in my S21. Anything I need to know? Prayers lifted for my typing
My metro card because our system is idiotic and can't just accept normal credit card payments at the turnstile.
Weird. I haven't had the pleasure, but tap to pay was clutch when I was in SFO a few months ago. GET IT TOGETHER SWAMP.
Why is the functionality for cropping and setting your own pictures as the home/lock screen as if android was in its first generation? It's maddening. Used to use image 2 wallpaper, but the UI is awful and it seems like it's gone from the store.
