So, we thought surgery was a success. Two weeks later, another tumor popped up, with another lymph node compromised. Since then, it has been nothing but downhill. Lethargy, not eating, wheezing. Bad stuff. We meet with the oncologist Tuesday and anticipate planning her last days. Check your pups. Fuck cancer.
Try to stay strong for the last days, this won’t be easy. Your responsibility now is to give your dog the best goodbye that you can so she/he rest peacefully with your love all around when she/he passes.
My couch smells like absolute dog ass. Would be best off lit on fire when I move in a few weeks. I bought one of these waterproof dog blankets from Costco for the new couch and will be doing my best to keep them on it.
Wife has been watching this puppy that has been sitting at the breeder we used last. She doesn’t want a third dog but I think she has her heart set on her. The struggle is real not to bring her home.
If you are looking for people here to convince you not to bring her home, you are at the wrong place my friend. Go get her, she looks like a good girl
xray showed no break she limps around on 3 legs 75% of the time and doesn’t seem too fazed my brother in law who has hunting labs says he’s done one that didn’t work very well and another one he didn’t ands the dog was essentially just a house dog.
That is a beautiful puppy. Congrats on the new dog. Our dog tore both of his ACL. The surgery is pretty straightforward though recovery can be stressful on the dog, especially if you do the TPLO surgery. They have to stay off the leg for a few weeks and for a young dog its hard. My dog recovered very well though and runs, plays, and jumps normally.
Keep her quiet for a few weeks, no running, minimal walking would be my way of dealing with this. She probably sprained something but she will keep using it like a dog would. It’s your job to force her to heal
Biship if she can’t move, mastication sticks can be a great way for her to spend some energy. beef tendons, bully sticks…etc
Sabo passed away peacefully in his sleep last night. I knew we were getting to the end of the road, but he had a hell of a run. I’ll miss him forever.
damn man, I'm so sorry, as others said he was a true OG. Our almost-19 year old cat passed away on Saturday and it's really made me worry even more about our pups, they are all seniors now. Our Pomskie is pushing 15, our shep is almost 10 and our dorgi is 8.
I miss having two dogs doing this together (they both passed with in three weeks of each in 2020 and I’m convinced it’s because they were so close) but with two little kids I’ll just have one big idiot for a while that I now love as much as I did those girls.
Got some new pics today but wife is stuck on a name between Willow and Parker. I will not hear the end of this today.
Think you got Sabo pretty close to the time I got Hudson and Truman got Truman. Sorry for your loss, man. Hudson has been dealing with with cancer for about the last year now. The tumor was determined inoperable, so we've just been keeping it manageable with Prednisone. He's already far outlived what the docs expected was possible, but I fear the end is coming sooner than later. He's a frail old man at this point, but his personality is still there.
Damn. Sorry to hear this. Sending hugs to Hudson. I dont post in here too often. Im happy to report Truman is still going strong. He’s lost a few teeth but no other health problems. Still pretty active. He’ll be 12 in a couple weeks
