Yeah I choose to look past some of those premier league logistics that the show chooses to ignore. They took what had to have been a 20+ minute break to fix the net. The City game was over long before the final whistle But that’s a small quibble for me
How do you know there wasnt a 20 minute break in the City match because they shot a ball through the net as well?
I paused the tv when Jamie and Dani passed the CRUCIAL penalty kick over to the Captain, and told mrs constant "that would NEVER fucking happen but whatever". I also paused after the "Goodbye Farewell" number to say, "how the fuck did they manage to make something that should have been so cringey SO GOOD?" Overall, sure it was very fan-servicey. But when I'm the fan being serviced I'm good with it.
If the last montage wasn’t a dream sequence (which I think it was) then Rebecca didn’t sell 49% of the club. She gave it to the fans as evidenced by the stack of 1% shares in the bar.
Sudeikis was on the Spade/Carvey podcast yesterday. Talked a lot about the show. Basically he said it’s done for now and he just wants to chill for a while. He did say spinoffs could be a possibility down the road and he’s open to a TL podcast exploring the episodes.
Sitcoms get happy endings. Hard stop. NOBODY ever wants a sad ending for a sitcom character. See HIMYM
Pretty sure it just said 1 share not 1%. The joke was the 3 bar lads had to pool their money to buy just 1 while Mae is a baller and bought like 1000.
I forgot that the West Ham manager that Rupert pushed was the one that Rebecca fired before she hired Ted thats a pretty cool callback
the paper Ted picked up in the airport had it on the front page. I don’t think the end was a dream, but either way she definitely sold 49%
It 100% did say it. Which in my head canon makes the dream sequence for sure because Ted thought that much of Rebecca that she would give it away (that was stolen from SugarShaun ) then DirtBall had to rain on my parade
Beard did an AMA and clarified that the wedding was real, not a dream. Didn't reference the other parts tho
If the wedding was real you have to think the other parts were as well. The snow globe and book are red herrings imo. I think the point was to show that everyone’s life that Ted touched ended up in a better place then when he met them. That’s the true ‘Lasso Way’. I’m trying to understand the meaning to the songs that book ended it though. ‘Father and Son’ and ‘Fight Song’. Clear connection, Cat Stevens sued the shit out of Flaming Lips and ended up with the royalty rights to ‘Fight Song’ since they stole the melody. Now I’m probably reading into this too much but ‘Father and Son’ is about a father telling his kid to calm down and not do anything rash but the kid runs off anyways (Ted running to Richmond because his marriage was failing?) and ‘Fight Song’ is about a guy pissed off because he left and didn’t fight for his girl but now he’s determined to. Do you think they’re saying Ted and ahole X wife end up back together? I really don’t like that idea. I think Fight Song starting right after she yelled and him looking at the crowd instead of the field are clues as well.
There’s been a lot of great recommendations. AppleTV+ is pound-for-pound easily one of the top streaming services, and then just bundle everything into an Apple One subscription. It’s still shitty, but Apple Music pays artists better than Spotify as well. Prehistoric Planet and their nature docs are really good. Rose Byrne doing aerobics is a fun background show. And the 3rd of the Spielberg/Hanks WWII miniseries is coming this summer, Masters of the Air. Combine that with Apple’s picture quality and this could be a monster series.
If you don’t see it in the theaters for like the month it’s out, the Killers of the Flower Moon will only be available on AppleTV+ The Crowded Room looks awesome too. The Afterparty is from Christopher Miller, enough said there. And can’t recommend the Tetris movie enough.
Co-signed. Any docs with Sir David narrating are top notch and a joy to watch with his commentary Also watched Still: MJFox last night. Really well done how they used old movie footage to depict his personal life journey. Was anticipating more post-announcement time showing what he's done since, but I'm happy with the route they went. Also hit a lot of feels since my first grandparent died from Parkinson's and had nights of riding over to their house with dad to help pick him up when he'd fall trying to get around the house. Girlfriend wasn't a fan of the second half of the movie because she's an occupational therapist and Fox was doing everything she gets pissed at her patients for doing when they shouldn't be
I thought the finale was pretty good. Very happy they didn't have Richmond win. Really hoping this is finality. I understand it was all fan service, but that's better than a shit ending A look at all the callbacks: https://www.reddit.com/gallery/13x79h5
Loved it. Reminded a little of the Scrubs series finale in how they wrapped it all up (not the shitty weird last season). also Ted is for sure getting like $10 million from SKC in this scenario
Just finished watching Tetris. Excellent recommendation. Playing “Holding Out for a Hero” in Russian during the car chase was ::chef kiss:: Thank you sir.
Taron Egerton also has the amazing Black Bird on Apple. Taron Egerton is getting very close to that level of I’ll watch anything he does. He’s a hell of a talent.
