One of my favorite 45 seconds of the entire show. Frank costanza was an amazing character and Jerry stiller was just the best
I remember playing the Seinfeld match game on my old IBM laptop. It played clips from the show whenever you got a match, and the Frank Costanza answering machine message never failed to make me laugh
During the final season of Seinfeld the Regis and Kathy Lee show did a national search for look a likes of the actors. My Aunt submitted my grandma for Estelle Costanza without her knowing. She ended up winning and was brought onto the show. I still remember a limo coming to our house to pick her up and take her to NYC to tape Regis. Here’s a pic of them
Like many people, I've seen every episode of Seinfeld a dozen times or more through the years. Still, I had no idea how many of the scenes and lines were actually references to old movies. I knew some but not the majority after stumbling across this video that is edited perfectly.
i watched seinfeld as a kid when it aired live, and throughout the years since and picked up on the movies throughout, but like you said some of these are pretty obscure and older that i still never got. knowing seinfeld was a genius show back as a kid, it makes me wonder how much more i'd appreciate it back then if i had been over an older generation that knew all of these references already.
Bizarre that someone like Wayne Knight became a touchstone for so many impactful cultural moments of the 90s
One of the best guest appearances ever. They probably had to do multiple takes of this scene because how could you not burst out laughing.
just rewatched "the gum." the writing of george being insane to that woman was amazing. lloyd braun being the crux of all his problems, and finishing with the king outfit running after her saying "i got it from the institute!" just genius.
Just finished my first watch of the show. Very good. Last season was not the same. I didn’t hate the finale but it wasn’t good if that makes sense. Show ended like it started and some decent call backs.
The George vs Bubble Boy Moors/Moops saga is the funniest bit on the show Respect my decision No interviews God's hands
It's a solid take. But so many contending running bits. - Elaine's overly aggressive shoves in Jerry's chest. - The Costanzas never having a conversation with each other, no matter how prosaic the topic, without shouting at the top of their lungs. Just a couple of things that kill me every time.
Frank: Starting tonight, we're having a little sales contest. The loser gets fired, the winner gets a Waterpik. Estelle: You're not giving away our Waterpik!
Elaine, I can see not saying hello. She's very... What's the word? Supercilious. How could Jerry NOT SAY HELLO?!?!?
This is wild to me. Just not your thing when it was on tv? Too young? I’m glad you checked it out. Agree on the whole about the last season, although it’s got some classic eps and characters Festivus
My wife never had watched it other than random eps here and there so we're watching through it all. I think we're on season 6 now. To be fair she was like 5 when the show ended.
