That first episode was pretty powerful social commentary. Brilliant how they used juxtaposition to demonstrate racism and bias, while using the true story of another marginalized group as the antagonists. Just amazing how they put these two stories together to show what they did.
Episode 3 description: “This one was cool. Going to rich parties and meeting weirdos. Season 1 was better.” Lmao
Wow it's been a minute. I mean, I like this episode about the troubled kid but we waited 50 years for this? I think everybody knows blackface ain't cool anymore, we get it. They be trying too hard to go viral.
I haven’t seen a ton of discourse period. I could see people being annoyed w the first one. Either way , Donald - pls be above Twitter beefs
Yea his reaction seems to be evident of something out there but Ive enjoyed this run very much, love the mini mind fucks it provides. Makes you pay attn in a different way from other current shows.
Well, so far the whole season is about how awful and/or cringey white people are. However, I cant see anyone who is a fan of this show bitching about it. Apparently there are though.
I think I got 1/4 chicken and went medium. I don’t recall how hot I went. I remember having the corn. Everything was great
Show has become the Black Mirror of racism. I’m enjoying it, but I would like to see more of the main crew.
Van Lathan used to work for TMZ. He's the dude that called Kanye West out for his "slavery was a choice" comment. He said that Deray knows about it but hasn't seen the episode. I think this episode was more of a shot at Shaun King than Deray. I think Khaliffs character has a redeeming ending.
It is like he decided this was a different show every other week. If I was watching it for what it currently is, I would definitely appreciate the social commentary, but I go in to each episode looking for what the crew is doing next.
Agreed. I watch to follow the actual story, not for a social commentary black mirror-esque show. Those episodes are fine, although a bit too much of a caricature imo.
I wonder if everyone’s availability was impacted by COVID so they decided to add some anthology to the story
I also don't know if it's *that* different. I haven't rewatched s2 in awhile but I remember that each week had the ability to be something completely different, granted it still involved the main characters but this doesn't feel much different from what I remember.
I would agree with that. It’s the lack of them in some episodes which is different but I don’t mind that.
