Do you put the correlation between the amount of guns, and the rate of gun deaths in the USA down to coincidence, or do you agree that there might be causation? Do you appreciate that there are dozens of other ways of committing mass murder, but no other first world country sees anywhere near as much of an issue as in the USA? Do you see that it might be absurd to 99.99% of the rest of the world to suggest a solution to guns in schools is more guns in schools? I think that this board represents a good cross section of the adult male population of the US, and it's relieving to see that more and more people are keen to find an efficient, workable solution to the gun problem. The ones that don't acknowledge a problem are looking increasingly guilty by their complete lack of empathy with every single incident that occurs. I can tell you that while the UK has its own problems, I feel peace of mind that my children will go through their lives without ever hearing a gun fired in anger or desperation.

The giant hole in the arming teacher plan (among many other holes) is that most 17-18 year old boys could easily disarm most females teachers and then they didn't even need to bring a gun to start killing people. We would just be making it easier for people to start killing students.

Im a teacher and obviously have talked about this with colleagues. Whether teachers carry, stricter gun laws, etc. As bad as it sounds if a person is willing to die to kill people, not much you can do about.

Basically every measure that can be taken, doesn't matter if a person wants to kill a large amount of people. Our school is 2500+, but only has 3 resource officers. 3 people trying to keep a small town safe. Unless people are ready to turn schools into a police state, no chance of keeping everyone safe. I, myself, am on the fence about teachers carrying. But people have to realize these evil acts aren't stopping. Take guns away (harder to get legally) and evil bastards will just go black market or go to extreme and make bomb.
