Now that Dany is being outmaneuvered she is going to need Jon. He may not need to prove anything to her. All her other Westerosi alliances got murked and she needs some locals.
They already are. 2 castles get overtaken extremely quickly. Bran is back, and we know he doesn't want to rule. Sansa is already flustered, Jon and Davos get what they came for, the dragonglass and assumedly get to head back afterwards. Last Sand snake is gone, ellaria is basically dead. Euron is trancing around yara like his pet and can do what he wants with her. Littlefinger already has his first turning point so to speak That's just this episode. So much is happening.
Holy shit this was an underrated post God, I feel sorry for the people who don't understand its meaning
Also cersei already has the money to repay the Iron Bank with the Highgarden takeover. So now she will have the backing of all that money and power
And we didn't even see the brotherhood and the hound. Hopefully they make it to winterfell next episode.
This is gonna get crazy fun. Glad they didn't just have Jon bend the knee to further everything. More evidence he and Dany work side by side imo.
sounds like we may finally get Bran telling Jon who is daddy really is with the "I need to talk to Jon" line
I think this where her plan will start to fall apart. My hypothesis is that on his way back to King's Landing, Jamie and his army will be besieged by Dany and her Dothraki. In their subsequent defeat, Jamie loses the gold to Dany thus crippling Cersei's and Jamie's efforts to payback the Iron Bank.
God damn Bran, it's not that hard to explain to Sansa what happened to you after she thought you were dead. Throw her a fucking bone man.
He's broken, he has a single purpose now. You could see it in his distant stare when they hugged. He'll be the key, but never expect compassion from him again imo.
Bran is like a really smart kid who knows lots of stuff and can't use his legs Only super knowledgeable elite level posters will get this reference
The Westeros families are shrinking pretty quickly. My only complaint so far Euron's fleet has the role of Tolkien's Eagles this season bc of how fast shit is moving.
This was probably the best "non action" episode of the series. Just big ballin shot callin monologin. Loved it. I love how the show keeps pulling the rug out from under the heroes, right when you think they're going to get a win. People have been predicting Tyrion letting the Unsullied into Casterly Rock via the sewers for ages now, and when it finally happens OF COURSE its a trap. Also this season had a shortened episode order and the biggest budget to date and we've seen basically nothing but a few CGI ships at sea and some distant dragons. The back half is going to be unreal.
but what if you had seen your BFF die protecting you while holding the door and simultaneously see him become the crippled that he would become
Next episode is the spoils of war (title). Jamie's army is going to get ambushed by the dothraki, dany, and the dragons. Pretty much a must win for dany at this point. It has the biggest budget of any episode of the entire series to date. Will most likely "battle" the battle of the bastards for best fight scene ever. Going to be massive It won't after the dragons bbq up the army along with the dothraki
Tyrion seems to be getting his ass handed to him on the battle field. Both of his recommendations have been terrible moves for Danny. But he still is a strong political leader and him basically saving Jon and guiding him on that cliff to lower his request so he can take a win home. Tyrion struggles will likely lead to a place next to Danny for Jorah.
Such a great scene. On one hand you have a somewhat polished political leader thanks to Tyrion. On the other hand you have Jon who's new to this and rough around the edges. Danny also got a lesson. Leaders won't just bend the knee because she has those titles. To have people follow her she will need to prove her reputation to be true in this world.
Yeah they give no fucks about Casterly Rock. Jamie said so at the end. They wanted to confine them to land travel and being able to attack them on the road back.
