That match doesn't need the belt. I think AJ retains and I think a debuting Naka will challenge AJ at Mania

Does Naka win the rumble or someone from Raw does then and Naka debuts at WM? I guess having an NXT guy win the rumble would make a LOT of sense. Probably too much sense. That way you could have them "pick" the brand/title they wanted to go after and they're basically making their free agent decision. Could build a lot of suspense around it. Decision 2.0 style ha.
That was my idea... Naka wins the rumble. You use him on RAW and Smackdown for a few weeks till he makes his choice (eventually Smackdown) and you give the smarks a dream match on the biggest of stages. My Wrestlemania card would be Brock vs Goldberg AJ vs Naka (WWE Title) Owens vs Jericho Roman vs Balor (Universal Title) HHH vs Rollins Cena vs Taker
Unfortunately, this is all too good to be true. I agree with you wholeheartedly, it would big and the best WM card in a while probably. Wasn't Naka/AJ Wrestle Kingdom last year? I bet Vince is too scared he'll look like he's copying New Japan.
Alternately, I would want KO/Jericho to be for the title, and Roman/Balor basically be #1 contender. But that's also because I just want Y2J to have another title run.
I feel the same way... I think Balor returns either at the Rumble or the following PPV. Where is Jericho and KO story at that point? I guess you could see a 4 way with KO, Jericho, Balor and Roman and maybe this is where Jericho and KO finally split giving Balor the title again
https://theringer.com/the-2016-wwe-awards-d7a3570053ad#.6q8s5unr1 He hits on a lot of the best matches of the year including Zayn - Naka being #1 but I think he has revival vs DIY too low (should be 2nd) and totally missed Ibushi vs Alexander which was amazing.
That's pretty fucking good. Probably add Bayley vs Charlotte (Bayley winning the title at Mania would get an otherworldly pop) and a tag match.
So I forgot I told one of my best friends I'd go to WWE tonight in Nashville with him and his son. What should I expect? Who should I be rooting for? I don't think I've watched wrestling seriously in 10 years or more.
Really though Jax Teller it looks like a Smackdown house show according to who is advertised online. The only person you need to worry about booing is the Miz.
It's still amazing to me when you think of the (cute) prude Mormon girl he was in love with on Real World.
LU was alright tonight. Finish of Cage/Texano best of 5 series. Got a little bloody. Both took an couple unprotected chair shots that made me cringe. The series was for a patented Dario Cueto "unique opportunity." Spoiler Cage won. He was given a gauntlet that seems to carry immense supernatural power. On the backdrop of the larger story that there is "a war coming" with the "police," it appears Cueto is creating a super army to fight for him. This is the sort of ridiculous thing I love about LU. Soap opera with a wrestling backdrop. Sidenote: Brian Cage is so uncomfortably roided out. Cringe just looking at him sometimes.
Wish they would take my advice on how to book Apollo. Let him keep the cheesy shit up in front of the camera and in front of the crowd. Have a camera in the back show him talking to somebody on the phone, says something like "they have no idea who I really am". Let him keep it up even when the crowd starts to boo. Let it simmer, he continues to talk on the phone to "the mystery guy", boos get worse. Finally he snaps in the ring, maybe in a tag match with another face, and goes nuts. Lights go out, they come back up, and there's the mystery guy, MVP, in the ring with Apollo. They beat down whoever, and now you have another great heel tag team.
which one was she? wasnt The Miz in NY with a bunch of mixed race people? the only Mormon girl I remember was Julie who tried to remove another girl's safety harness on a zipline thing between buildings.
WM rumblings Spoiler Right now when it comes to WrestleMania while there are a lot of rumors and directions being stated, there are only three matches locked in, which are Brock Lesnar vs. Bill Goldberg, HHH vs. Seth Rollins and Big Show vs. Shaquille O’Neal. John Cena vs. Undertaker is a probable, but Vince McMahon was not locked on it. Also probable was a multiple person women’s championship match on the Raw side. Right now when it comes to Undertaker, while it is likely Cena, the other opponent considered is Roman Reigns with the idea that Reigns is the future, Cena vs. Undertaker doesn’t build the future, and this may be Undertaker’s last match. If they don’t do Reigns this year, they may never be able to do it. Either way, if Cena and Reigns leave San Antonio as champions, it looks like Undertaker will challenge one of them in the main event. The storyline of Undertaker no longer being defined by WrestleMania, may be a story of him entering and winning the Royal Rumble, to earn that shot, or challenging for a title, and the title win being the key. Or it could be Cena vs. Undertaker, which was scheduled for last year but fell through when Cena needed shoulder surgery. The match doesn’t need a title attached to it, but the title would elevate the match to the main event position and elevate the title as well based on two of the truly biggest stars on the show being in the match. It ended up being a fortunate break last year, because Vince McMahon thought out of the box and brought back Shane McMahon, and as silly as this sounds except it’s the truth, the Shane vs. Undertaker match was the biggest match on the show, and with the stips (not adhered to of course), it was far bigger than a Cena vs. Undertaker match would have been on that night. As far as if they do Cena vs. Undertaker, whether that will be for the Smackdown title, that would make sense since Cena will challenge A.J. Styles for the title at the Royal Rumble. Given Styles having the edge on Cena in singles matches and Cena always evening up the score, it would seem to be his turn. On Smackdown, they were heavily pushing the idea of Cena as a 15-time champion, with the story of needing one win to tie Ric Flair’s fake record of 16 (as noted before, you can interpret the Flair number many different ways, but the smallest number you can give is 18). Cena already failed once when going for that record. This would make Undertaker a favorite for the Rumble along with Braun Strowman, since the winner of the Rumble should be the person who challenges for one of the two titles. If Reigns goes with Undertaker, the question becomes who would then go with Cena (or Styles if he retains). Reigns could just as easily beat Kevin Owens at the Rumble to win the Universal title, and defend against Strowman, but if need be, he could also defend against Undertaker if the idea of the show is to build around Undertaker challenging for the title. Owens and Chris Jericho has been built for months and they’ve dragged it out so it peaks at the right time, and WrestleMania would be that time.
