The minute they made Mike the badass and Harvey the bumbling sidekick, the suck-train left the station.
You seem to be convinced for all intents and purposes he was a lawyer, so I was hoping you could take a stab at it.
The foreman said he was going to be found not guilty but he pleaded out. The guy I replied to said we (the tv audience) knew he wasn't a lawyer so "we were expected to think that he had a shot of proving he IS a lawyer. that is laughable." My only point is using what the tv audience knows makes no sense because it is a tv show we are supposed to suspend our disbelief and accept that in the Suits universe just about everyone believed he was a lawyer. When I said "for all intents and purposes he was a lawyer" I meant in the Suits universe.
Prediction: Rachel joins this Innocence Project while it coincides with Mike being in prison. As each episode goes on, she gets deeper into the mission of the project while Mike becomes some sort of non-lawyer advocate for inmates in prison. Upon his release, Rachel is due to graduate law school and he works with her as a researcher while she does the actual legal work for getting inmates released. That would actually be an interesting story line moving ahead because there's a lot to work with. Don't know how PSL fits in, but maybe they reshape their firm to something along the same line.
My issue right now is that Mike the Lawyer was a genius, but Mike the inmate may be the dumbest human alive.
Somewhat true. Throughout the whole show he has been smart but also painfully naive, which is how he has acted in prison.
Show is still stuck in the sand. I keep waiting for the breakout episode this season but every episode is the same as the one before. And yet...I watch.
hate this show now so much. It's as bad as Tyrant. All the shows I used to love have turned into complete dogshit.
Welcome to the party! Haven't watched a single episode this season and it feels good not being annoyed at the shitty writing each week.
Not sure I'm willing to suspend my disbelief that much anymore. But I stand by what I THINK will happen...that he will work as a consultant on cases like the Innocence Project. And then I may simply sleep through the rest of the series because that, too, will run its course.
Still think they deviated too far from what made the show initially interesting, which was Mike's memory. And Donna's tits.
In New York he can take the bar without having completed law school. He just needs to have worked for a law firm or IIRC a judge. It wouldn't be that huge of a suspension of disbelief. It just struck me as weird when Cahil says "you can't practice law without a degree" not you can't ever practice again.
isn't he in for a felony? Then he's shit outta luck unless he can get an appeal from a judge or something
I gave up on Zoo after the blonde chick got killed. Just couldn't anymore. One of the few shows that got so bad I tapped out.
Just watched this season. yea its not great, but i was fairly well entertained. I guess thats alright for a sunday.
the character and fitness board of the New York Bar would call him in prior to letting him even take the bar exam. There would be a decent chance that since he already showed such poor character that they wouldn't let him take the bar period. They've done that for much less.
and fwiw i still enjoy the show. Harvey and Louis still get enough air time to make it enjoyable. Less Mike and his fiance.
Louis shifted from an irritating, devious foil/rival to annoying, blubbering dummy - but it was nice to see things pay off for him. He was a 'lovable moron' version of a fat Michael Scott.
Saw the first but not the latest yet. Reaaaaaaalllly running out of fresh ideas man. Show is on life support.
I watched the first two episodes. They were maybe my least favorite two episodes of the entire series. They were just terrible.
I don't work for a law firm but I got to think a secretary being a senior partner and a paralegal being in charge of associates isn't normal.
Just weird. It's like that scene in Seven when they find the emaciated guy and Brad Pitt asks the doctor if he's tried to communicate and the doctor says he chewed his tongue off long ago. We're Brad Pitt.
i'm really far behind and just read a description of the season Spoiler they let mike take the bar? that would never happen
