Does it take longer to get approved if you do it in a branch? How long does it usually take to hear back online?
Yeah online approval for credit cards usually only takes like 15-30 seconds unless there is some kind of flag they want to discuss with you. edit: nvm :D
yeah they are but there are some under the five card limit that are pending also. people could also be trolling
So am I reading right that essentially the annual fee for this card is really only $195, if you consider a yearly $300 credit for travel? Otherwise, a $495 annual fee seems to outweigh the long-term benefits over CSP unless you travel/spend a ton.
$450 so $150 and it's by calendar year so if you keep it 2 years, 364 days: 2016: -$150 2017: -$150 2018: +$300 So nothing over the first three years
Application is now live on the main chase website instead of just links posted by people. I wanted to wait till it was in writing on the application the 100k bonus. Got approved.
I was worried about this too, but I signed up on the reddit link and called to confirm I received the bonus and I did. Also tried to get the shipping expedited but no dice.
this might be a silly question given the perks, but I assume you are charged the full $450 right away onthe first billing cycle...
Is there any reason I can't sign up for this if I just got the preferred two months ago? Can I then convert my preferred to a free chase card but still keep my sign-up bonus points I just earned?
From what I've read, if you're credit score is good and you're under the 5/24 rule, most should be good. The ones who were getting denied were the serious churners.
wasn't pre-qualified so I'm out (at 12/24 currently) until next year... might ask the wife to apply but she doesn't have any chase cards (outside of being an AU on my CSP)..
I don't have a chase card, I canceled my others and currently paying off. I'm not sure what my bonus is but it looks like only 50k unless I misread
Approved. Guess I'm stuck with my preferred card for a year. I'm assuming they will credit back the annual fee when I downgrade it. Not sure if this has been asked but can I cancel the card, move the credit limit to my reserve, and still keep my bonus points?
Been tempted for a bit to get a travel card since I'm strictly cash back right now. I fly for free so I have a hard time rationalizing getting one. On the other hand, my discover cash back match just came through. $327 is a nice little bonus.
Be careful of cancelling right after getting the signing bonus. It may affect your chase relationship negatively. You can't downgrade or product change until 12 months have passed on the CSP. Imo, it's not worth cancelling any card after you get a signup bonus.
spend more than 300 in uber fares, train tickets, flight tickets or anything that gets billed under travel category and you get the 300 credit at end of billing cycle
Got the CSP yesterday. With that and a limit increase on another card, my overall limit doubled. Pretty thrilled about that.
Wife got approved. I'm gun shy as I'm 6/24. I'll probably go for it if the 100K is disappearing. They wouldn't expedite. Leaving to Europe on Friday. Fuck me.
This may be a dumb question but does being added as an authorized user to other chase cards count towards the 5/24 rule?
Make sure you have a Charles Schwab brokerage account which will 'unlock' a CS checking account. The debit card tied to that CS checking accounts includes refunds on all atm withdrawals, including overseas. My buddy says the most he's seen was $16 (strip club) and it was refunded just like any other. I turned my tuesday application (including expediting delivery) before I flew out on saturday. If you (or anyone else) want more info on the steps to complete, "like" this post and I'll post exactly what I did and what to expect.
So basically once you reach a total of $300 spent on travel in any given year, a $300 credit will appear? You don't have to do anything special like book through the travel portal/etc for it to count?
I believe it's done incrementally, no? eg if my $10 uber in January and then my $300 flight is in March, the amounts will be credited on the close of those billing cycles, right?
Really? Fuck. I was going to do that today. Two weeks is insane - I'm used to AMEX overnighting it to me.
I've heard conflicting things on this, but I don't think so. Store cards don't count either supposedly (as long as they aren't branded by Visa, MC, etc.).
Authorized user doesn't count, it's not a pull on your credit. Most business accounts don't count either
