http://brookhavenpost.co/28-unit-to...s-green-light-from-planning-commission/37325/ Finally, some multi-unit housing on dresden! Because that's what that little slice of bottleneck heaven needed more of.
New townhomes going in Edgewood too i think. Also, a rendering is out for a 400+ post apartment complex near centennial park. I'd like to live down there some time.
Is Beetlecat any good? Went there on Saturday night, but the wait was 90 minutes, so I bowed out and just walked across the street to Pure where the wait was 5 minutes. Beetlecat smelled nice even if a little stuffy.
grabbed a drink there a couple weeks ago and it was packed so I got out after one. with you on the smells though. would like to try it for dinner sometime.
so Big Tex in Decatur may have something going on. it was serving solely as a kitchen that supports Fox Bros catering since it closed but now they are apparently moving that operation closer to Sweetwater. they said they aren't going to open up a second Fox Bros location at Big Tex, but that they want to do something with it. I really hope they do, that's a nice spot that's off the beaten path of the square and has some serious potential. Never went to Big Tex before it closed but I heard good things.
Well yeah, I just heard for what it was it was good. They should just do the Fox Bros wings and burger there and have a ton of beers.
It's more a WSP cover band place. Clownbaby and I have heard many a different versions of Disco there in our day.
Well, after asking for Valentines recs in this thread not too long ago, looks like I am single again. Time to learn to like Buckhead, I guess.
Mostly unnecessary. Stick to the dating apps and you'll have access to the same girls without having to be at the ivy on saturday nights.
I'll be in ATL this weekend and plan on eating at Kevin Rathbun steak, is it any good? I'm really looking forward to this, and hoping it is lol.
KRS is solid but borderline top 5 Atl steak house for me. I'd go: Hal's NY prime Bones Capital Grille KRS or Chops
Nope, I really wanna know. I know steak houses in general on TMB can be a big thing. I'm just curious in the general feedback in this place, if it's worth a try or not...
I think she tried to get into NY prime Friday and they were booked. KRS had one slot left and we took it....
I've got Iberian Pig reservations for Friday and Agave for Saturday, will pick one depending on her schedule.
NY Prime is a chain. Rathbun's is the best in the city. The chef himself is awesome. You are going to love it. I just can't take chains seriously in any discussion.
Tried Bacchanalia this weekend. Due to some confusion we ended up having duck 5 different ways. It was awesome. Definitely pricey, but worth it.
NY Prime has 3 locations so I really wouldn't call it a chain. It is owned by a restaurant group who also own Tavern at Phipps and some other places in the Carolinas and Florida. That same family iirc also owns Greens liquor stores. That said NY Prime is still good, but there are other steakhouses I would rather go.
I don't know if I would go as far as to say I can't take chains seriously, but if I'm going to be in a different city, I want a truly local experience. I can get that at KRS, I cannot at Ruth's Chris or Morton's. Semi-related: My little brother drives me fucking mad when he's in town and wants to go to Fellini's or Willy's.
there are franchising opportunities it passes the smell test for me and its affiliated with the Tavern at Phipps. Say no more.
I must have missed it, but I never saw anything about franchising opportunities. Say what you will about Tavern, but I'm sure it makes a ton of money. Having different restaurant concepts in a restaurant portfolio. Doesn't Rathbun have 4 or 5 restaurants?
It's difficult to decide which of these statements is more absurd. Rathbun's isn't even close to the best in Atlanta and the fact that there are 2 more NY Prime's in America doesn't change the fact that it's fantastic. Fox Bros is about to have 3 locations, can it be taken seriously once they open the new ones? Rathbun has 4 restaurants anyway, so it's also a chain just different variations on the concept at each
Hell no! Fox Bros is immediately going to go down to McDonald's McRib level as soon as the doors open on the others.
Hal's is probably the douchiest place I've ever been. I'll take my steak with out their pretentiousness
Been to Hal's, Bones, cap city, and Rathbun steak. Rathbun steak is my favorite steakhouse. Best sides in recorded history. Tremendous vibe and decor. It was voted best in the nation. Take it with a grain of salt, however, as you have to actually put effort to land on any list. You also have to be in that top tier. For me, all Top Tier steak is the same. They're all in 'the best food you will ever eat' category. It's salt, pepper, and the cut of meat.
but its making lots of money Hal's is your typical try-too-hard steak place. Not my speed but I could see it if Buckhead and new money is your scene. Its good for sure. Rathbun's is essential Atlanta.
I hate both of those things and I've literally never heard anyone say that about Hal's. My dad loved it when he was here, my wife loves it and it's easily #1 with our monthly steak night group who all live in Midtown or the Highlands
