QB-Milroe is one of the most dynamic athletes and players in the country and has been peaking at the right time. Has been huge in clutch moments. And his ability to pick up critical 1st downs with his legs has been huge down the stretch. McCarthy just has not matched that description. Edge Alabama
I thought about giving it to them but I have too much Bama in me. Corum has good power but he doesn't have elite speed. Edwards has been just kinda ok this year. McClellan, Roydell, and Jam aren't elite but they are pretty damn good. As a stable I think it's a push.
“Peaking at the right time” Needed a miracle play to pull off a 3 point win against a team that lost by 21 to New Mexico State the week before.
I would say the fact that he threw a dime in the most clutch of moments in Jordan Hare with the season on the line qualifies. Also had his best game of the season in November against LSU, was very good against Kentucky, led multiple drives in the Georgia game to answer and also iced the game with his legs late. So yah I would say Milroe has done infinitely more this season than McCarthy and is playing his best ball as of late.
Not sure how that's relevant. Milroe played well vs AU and you're trying to turn it into a team thing which is weird but you do you.
It's just a really strange burn . Nanny nanny booboo your QB who threw a legendary pass on 4th and 31 to win the game against your bitter rival in Jordan Hare sucks!
I can't believe someone came in here with a straight face and talked about UNLV and Bowling Green on the merits. And then calls me delusional!
I know you're joking, but wife and I were talking about this today. Non-playoff games being meaningless now has really made this metric of judging conferences worthless. Bowls used to mean a lot bc it was hard to make them bc there weren't 50 of them. Now they aren't a huge deal and tons of players sit out so it's just meh.
Your fans in here are touting that you’re better than us at pretty much every position. If that’s true you wouldn’t have needed your QB to toss a miracle play to save your season against an absolute garbage team in a game that he supposedly played well. Or he didn’t actually play as well as you guys are stating and he just racked up a shit ton of yards and sputtered when you got in the red zone. But you guys can’t have it both ways. Either the rest of your team isn’t nearly as good as you’re stating. Or Milroe isn’t as good as you’re stating.
You can easily go look up his numbers. Don't remember what he ended with, but it was over 350 total with 100 on the ground. That's not touting anything but a fact.
We also had a dogfight in their house with our hated rival, and needed a miracle to pull it out 49-0.
The only thing dumber than using bowl games to try to judge conferences was that people ever thought it was relevant in any way to judge conferences. Glad most reasonable folks have finally moved away from that ridiculousness with the super leagues.
It was a decent metric when teams cared about the outcome. But again, I understand why a Michigan fan would think they never mattered. I'd tell myself the same if my team lost 75% of them.
Bowl games don't matter but getting blown out by Georgia in the playoffs matters and then getting beat by TCU in the playoffs matters.
Fine. Let us all long for the days when the strength of the B1G was decided on by whether Purdue and Minnesota won the Motor City and Insight Bowls or not.
The top end bowls always mattered the most (UM didn't help here) but the low end showed where the #5 B1G stacked up vs the #5 B12 or whatever. But now most bowl teams don't resemble what they looked like in week 10 so it's not worth looking at. But again, I understand why a team from a conference with an all-time losing record would convince themselves why they never mattered. It's a good coping mechanism.
Mattered to what? Message board debates and sports radio when it was hard to find topics to talk about? If this is a troll, congrats on confusing me and making me think about it at all.
