Between Wade's World, the Groove and Family Fests, believe Dwyane Wade has been part of roughly $20 million in charitable giving in career.

    GAME NOTES
    • Miami is 13-7 on the road. The Magic are 14-7 at home.
    • This is the third of four meetings between the two teams this year. Each has won a game at home.
    • Miami is just 2-9 at games in Orlando over the last six seasons.
    • The Heat and Magic have split their last six meetings, and that comes after Orlando won 14 of the previous 17.
    • Orlando has won four of their last five games overall.
    • Mike Miller (ankle) will be out for the Heat, as well as assistant coach Bob McAdoo who will miss his second straight game because of a blood clot in his leg.
    • For the Magic, guard Jason Richardson (ankle) is questionable.

Eye-opening numbers for Heat's Big Three; UM/NCAA news, Fins and more

WEDNESDAY BUZZ COLUMN; For Peyton Manning and more Dolphins news today, see our story on the sports home page.

With LeBron James and Dwyane Wade on the floor together, the Heat is simply better than last season, outscoring opponents by 14.4 per 48 minutes entering Tuesday’s game against Orlando, compared with 11.8 last season. There’s no doubt the three stars have developed more chemistry.
But do you want to know an even more pronounced difference? It’s how much better James and Chris Bosh are now, compared to 2010-11, when they’re operating as the only “star” on the court.
When James is on the floor but Wade is not, the Heat is outscoring teams by 8.1 per 48 minutes, compared with 3.9 per 48 last season. And consider this: The Heat has used eight lineups for at least 10 minutes in which James is on the floor, but without Wade or Bosh, according to nba.com and basketballvalue.com.
Those lineups have outscored teams by 95 points in 266 minutes, a staggering plus-17.1 per 48, compared with 10.1 last year.
Do you have any idea how good that is? For perspective, consider that only four lineups in the NBA are better than a plus 95 (including the Heat’s starting lineup, at plus 113). And that’s without Wade or Bosh!
"Not only do I have to score more,” without Wade and Bosh, James said, “but I have to make more plays for my teammates. I know I have to put it in the basket more with two of our best scoring threats off the floor.”
In fact, the Heat’s second-best plus/minus lineup is one without Wade or Bosh: It’s James, Udonis Haslem, Mike Miller, Norris Cole and Shane Battier. That group has outscored teams, 180-141, in 78 minutes.
This, of course, is not only a function of James’ greatness, but also the Heat’s improved bench. As one Heat official said, “look who’s around him now” when James is on the floor without Wade or Bosh to close the first quarter. James also credits “better cohesiveness.”
With Bosh, the story goes deeper. Last year, he played only 125 minutes without Wade and James, and the Heat was plus-11. Entering Tuesday, the Heat had played 210 minutes with Bosh as the only star on the floor and had outscored teams by 45. In fact, the Heat’s second most-used lineup is Bosh, Cole, Battier, Miller and Haslem, which is plus-13 in 118 minutes.
Coach Erik Spoelstra is often using Bosh – but without James or Wade – to start the second quarter because he wants “to get our reserves an opportunity to get a good rhythm. We’re very conscious of managing the minutes of Dwyane and LeBron, particularly Dwyane.”
Said Bosh: “I’m pleased with it. It helps me be aggressive and gets the other guys involved.”
FYI: The Heat is plus-17 in 174 minutes when Wade, but not James, is on the floor.
    CHATTER
    ### The Heat entered the week believing a trade before Thursday’s deadline isn’t very likely. But Miami wants to see who’s bought out; players who have been in the league this year must be bought out or cut by March 23 to be playoff eligible elsewhere. The Heat did not make an offer to Rasheed Wallace, who’s mulling a comeback, because he wasn’t in good enough shape. Miami has touched base with veteran free agent center Dan Gadzuric.

I can't remember Wade playing a minute w/o either one on the floor.

    Game Notes
    • The Magic out-rebounded the Heat 46-36
    • Miami is now 1-2 against the Magic on the season
    • Orlando shot just under 50% for the game
    • Dwayne Wade scored all 4 of Miami's points in overtime

    GAME NOTES
    • The Heat are 13-8 on the road. Chicago is 17-3 at home.
    • The last four regular season meetings between the Bulls and the Heat have been decided by a total of 12 points.
    • The Bulls average 4.4 less points per game then Miami, but Chicago also gives up 5.1 less points per game then the Heat.
    • The Heat have also won their last 29 games when they've had a double figure rebounding advantage.
    • Miami can also boast that they have three different starters who are shooting above 50% for the season. LeBron James (55.2%) leads the way, with Joel Anthony (52.1%) and Dwyane Wade (50.5%) nipping at his heels.
    • Chicago is 16-0 this season when scoring 100 points or more.
    • The Heat will be without Mike Miller, who is dealing with a sprained left ankle.
    • As for Chicago, forward Luol Deng and guard C.J. Watson are probable.

They aren't moving the ball like they were, they aren't getting fouls. A lot of isolation and taking tough shots. Just not playing sound basketball.

I know James Jones is a liability on defense, but I think he deserves a little more playing time. Guy sits for 47.5 minutes and then drains two quick 3s when they need it the most. If we put him in a few minutes earlier, who knows?

    Game Notes
    • Lebron James scored 30 or more points for 18th time this season, the 2nd most in the NBA this year
    • Chicago is now 18-0 in games where they score at least 100 points
    • Dwyane Wade and Lebron James combined for 71 points
    • Miami got outscored in bench points 56-15
    • Miami got outrebounded 50-34
    • The Heat have now lost their 2nd game in a row
    • Miami players other than Lebron and Wade, combined to shot just 8-34

The loss doesn't bother me. Even though the bulls didn't have rose they got rose like production.

If it takes the bulls hitting every shot they take including a bunch of really lucky bounces, the heat bench and bosh playing like shit, and home court to beat the heat, then I'm not worried at all about the playoffs.

It's the same story as last regular season.
