Trading with the Devils feels weird. Decent value for both sides though. Rangers basically win the deal if Rykov makes the NHL. Devils win the deal if Grabner actually resigns with them.

yea, Vegas pretty much set the bar with what they did and the Panthers copied almost all of it. It was extremely well done and a great look for a powerful statement.

I don't think they have much to worry about. Teams below them are losing just as much. They are 5 pts up on the Isles with a game in hand. Only team with a winning record in their last 10 in the WC hunt is Florida and they are 10 up on them.
they didn't give up that much and grabner is a good guy who can give them good scoring depth. I like the move a lot.
The way I read it a third team is getting involved to absorb ryan's contract. There will be a 30 for 30 on this trade if the senators dont get a good return because the owner is worried about getting someone to rid him of ryans contract That one guy is saying Tampa but it could be another team. Sounds like it is getting more and more likely he gets traded though. I still dont buy it will be the lightning unless yzerman comes out with a great deal
No way Ott gets much of a return if they are just using it to get out of salary. Team who takes Ryan prob gets the Lightning first at minimum and Sens get some mid level prospect or lower line guy.
