Obviously the PA bargains for lesser suspensions, so what can you do, but it sucks that in most cases teams are rewarded for dirty hits causing injuries. NJ loses a top 4 defenseman for maybe the rest of the season and a 4th line goon gets to come back in a week and a half.
The PA should want guys like Rempe not a part of the league. I get them caping for pieces of shit like Chara, Malkin, Marchand, etc. But someone like Rempe shouldn’t move the needle if he’s playing in Vladivostok instead of New York.
Three minutes deep in this OTT/CBJ overtime and there hasn't even been a shot attempt yet. Fucking embarrassing from two teams with nothing to lose
I'm not sure if its dad humor of childish humor, but these photos will always get a chuckle out of me.
The sight of Pierre-Luc Dubois pisses me off. He quit on Columbus and had one of the most pathetic shifts I have ever seen before his trade to Winnipeg. They got rid of him too. I have never hated a player more. Fuck Pierre-Luc Dubois.
you called it very early and I pushed back for French Canadian reasons but he is a fucking waste. Some people here wanted him badly in mtl. The habs dodged a bullet on that one although it was probably just media driven and not something that was considered by hughes and Gorton. the definition of a cancer, he makes every team he plays on dysfunctional
Haven't watched the Bolts as much this year and not an expert but was that elbow negating yalls goal correct? Looked like the right call but I was a few drinks in at the bar with no audio. Just wanna hold onto a playoff spot in hope we get some Vasy postseason magic and not sign Stammer to a dumbass contract crippling the franchise for nostalgia.
I agree with PK here. Sheary is clearly falling on his own right before Kulikov gets there. The initial contact is also Kulikov’s arm to Sheary’s shoulder. It’s a bang bang play that I think they got wrong. But honestly that’s not the issue with last night’s officiating. The third period was a joke. Luckily that game was irrelevant to the panthers but if anyone from that crew gets a playoff assignment, something went very wrong.
PK’s argument is laughable. Initial contact doesn’t matter, only the main contact, that verbiage changed. It does not matter what his height is. You can’t hit him in the head. His head didn’t move at the last second. There was always going to be head contact with Kulikov coming in like that and it was unfortunately the main point of contact in that hit. His arm being tucked means he shouldn’t get a Rempe suspension.
Imo yes and no. With head contact I won’t argue the penalty call (which on its own would negate the goal) but I think a match penalty after review was a bit much given how the guys were moving/falling. 2 min and taking the goal off the board I think was appropriate. The major ended up turning into a 5on3 goal.
i do not know hockey like the real ones know hockey but I remember going to a game in Quebec where drouin and mackinnon were playing on the same team(moosehead) it was a crucial game in the playoffs. And all the buzz was about drouin because he had a great showing as a 16 years old in the world juniors. I walked in there hoping drouin would be the best player and I walked out knowing mackinnon was easily the best. He did not even have a productive night but the puck was sticking to him. Sign of great players. drouin had an ok game and I walked out thinking he would also be a star but I was wrong on that one.
so happy for lafreniere, the guy seems all class. Best case scenario is people lower their expectations and realize how good of a player he is and forget about the 1first overall pick thing, if he has a nice career as a 50-60 point a year player and also has a complete game that pick could still end up being the best of this draft.
Assuming his 5v5 game remains constant, he’s close to a 70 point player right now if he had gotten top line PP time To your point, he may still be behind 1st overall expectations. But he’s far from the bust people claimed coming into this season
