Props to Poles for trying to throw more out there to land a need. He’s gonna have to overpay for a Samuels or lower tier WR. Wouldn’t be against trading our 2nd next year and a 4th for Higgins at this rate, maybe draft Turner and bring back Yinnack.
In Poles defense this is where offensive players go to die, he might be throwing around some cash and nobodies biting. Caleb’s gotta change the culture
with the lack of later round picks seems like Poles is filling the bottom of the roster via these b/c level free agents. Makes me think we wont be trading down from the two 1st rounders.
Never heard of him but looks like PFF ranked him #24 and he was tied for the league lead in hurries from the C position. Guess that’s better than Patrick who they had #31. Still frustration we just keep throwing duct tape at that position.
I’m not going to worry about the OL spots. It will look better with Williams at QB. I’m sure Poles might take a swing at someone with one of the few picks we have outside of the first round.
I'm shocked that Yosh Njiman is not a Bear. Just checks so many boxes. Backup OL, former Packer with an axe to grind, etc
I would love to draft one of the big 3 WRs but aure seems like the play is to read to 12ish, pick up a 2nd and Brady the best edge.
I don’t think they could get a second by trading down from 9 to 12. They got a 3rd for trading down from 8 to 9 last year. I think if one of the top 3 WRs is available at 9 it’s hard to pass on one of them; it’s a really strong WR class at the top. I like Verse and (a little less so) Turner at 9 as well
Ive always liked Allen. A 4th is worth it for his skill set, although he's on the wrong side of 30 with heavy mileage and some injury concerns. I'd have rather had Nabers or Odunze but I know there's no guarantee we'd have the opportunity.
Consistently productive for a decade. Always open between the 20s receiver. I think that's good for you all considering the D needs to pay more attention to DJ Moore. Hopefully your 9 deep of c-level olinemen can protect whoever the QB is.
They may, I think the Allen move really hasn’t changed those odds We needed to add a vet WR to go along with a stud Rookie. If we trade down, a WR still is in play… just not the top 3 guys we have coveted.
If one of the top 3 are there I could see them taking them and giving Caleb the best #1 set up ever. If not trade back for Bowers or Edge, get a C or WR with the 2nd you add.
Wishful thinking here, but it’s rational to make a habit out of trading down when your roster stinks to the heavens like it did when Poles took over; I hope at some point he pivots to prioritizing drafting higher to build a core of high level players. Dime store depth-building can get you to .500 but not much further
Throwing QB pedigree shit against the wall and hoping one sticks. I guess not the worst QB planning I've ever seen
Lock him in for 3 years. Get Clowney on a 1 year contract. No clue where DT help can come from. A lot closer to a full team then they were 3 days ago.
