Offical thread part two Smug face wasn't available for the icon, so I figured we'd go Mizzou. Best episode of the season on Sunday though IMO. Idk how, but this season could be better than season 2, which was amazing in itself. Thoughts on Sunday's ep?
Re: ***Official Breaking Bad Topic: Meth is being made in bunches*** The last scene had me on the edge of my seat...twas awesome though
Re: ***Official Breaking Bad Topic: Meth is being made in bunches*** Think Gus tipped him off? I think it had to be but I'm not totally sure
Re: ***Official Breaking Bad Topic: Meth is being made in bunches*** I watched the episode again a few days back and it's either Gus or Hank's boss IMO. Idk why his boss would know, but it really sounded like him. All signs point to Gus though IYAM.
Re: ***Official Breaking Bad Topic: Meth is being made in bunches*** My question is who gave the mexican bros the green light? If it was Gus and someone finds out he is going to be in big trouble.
Re: ***Official Breaking Bad Topic: Meth is being made in bunches*** Gus did give them the green light. He did it at the end of the previous episode.
Re: ***Official Breaking Bad Topic: Meth is being made in bunches*** Oh yeah. Im an idiot. At first when it happened I was thinking Saul's PI guy tipped him off
Re: ***Official Breaking Bad Topic: Meth is being made in bunches*** It could have been Mike. He works for both Saul and Gus. He noticed the scythe outside of Walts house and said "It never hurts to have someone watch your back"
Re: ***Official Breaking Bad Topic: Meth is being made in bunches*** Holy shit at the ending. although it was pretty damn unrealistic...
Re: ***Official Breaking Bad Topic: Meth is being made in bunches*** Yeah him saying that is what had me leaning that way at first
Re: ***Official Breaking Bad Topic: Meth is being made in bunches*** Also, needs a New Mexico icon, IMO
Re: ***Official Breaking Bad Topic: Meth is being made in bunches*** It was the first thing I thought of, but there isn't one. Settled on the Mizzou one instead.
Re: ***Official Breaking Bad Topic: Meth is being made in bunches*** Damn canucks...will need smug icon as soon as available, though.
Re: ***Official Breaking Bad Topic: Meth is being made in bunches*** I think it HAD to have been Gus who tipped him off, sounded like him which is why he thought it was his old partner.. Plus, I think Gus set it up to get rid of the twins so he could keep on keepin on with Walt.. I think this is going to turn the Cartel against Gus and company, remember in the opening of this episode that guy in the cartel was saying on the phone how you couldn't trust a South American (Gus)?? and assuming Gus did set the twins up he was right.. Anyway, I think that shows the Cartel is going to be able to see what happened here rather quickly and go after Gus.
Re: ***Official Breaking Bad Topic: Meth is being made in bunches*** add to OP for poor slobs who missed it: http://tv.blinkx.com/show/breaking-bad/kD5n9jUm2WkAvuyN
Re: ***Official Breaking Bad Topic: Meth is being made in bunches*** Yeah I'm getting the feeling Gus won't make it out of this season alive. Which is going to leave Walt in an interesting position moving forward. I think the most amazing thing about the episode on Sunday was the fact that Hank didn't die. The whole episode was setting up for it to happen. His speech to Marie about he wasn't the man he thought he was. Giving his badge and gun to his commander. Then getting the flowers, and thinking his life would get better. The whole time I was thinking, "welp, he's done" and then he survived. I honestly didn't know if he would get the gunshot off, or if he would die. What an incredible episode.
Re: ***Official Breaking Bad Topic: Meth is being made in bunches*** I agree on all counts. Gus doesn't seem like more than a one season type of character to me, and I think that his eventual demise at the hands of the cartel (my guess as to what happens at the end of the season) will then lead to Walt being hunted down in season 4, which is supposedly going to be the last season. So, draw your own conclusions from there...
Re: ***Official Breaking Bad Topic: Meth is being made in bunches*** As I was watching him talk to Marie I thought the same thing, welp see ya later
Re: ***Official Breaking Bad Topic: Meth is being made in bunches*** Yeah that whole scene really set up for him to die, and then he didn't. I loved the fact that the last scene of the episode could have gone either way, and I would have been ok with it. It's not like a normal episode/movie, where you know he won't die. He could have died, and the story would have still moved forward. Really pumped for tomorrow night. I agree with that. I think Gus is done by the end of this season at the hands of the cartel and then shit will hit the fan with Walt in regards to that, setting up for the 4th season.
Re: ***Official Breaking Bad Topic: Meth is being made in bunches*** I don't know if you've ever watched the Wire, but the foreshadowing was really similar. Before they killed off a major character they always had a great dialogue and show a different side before the death. Really though hank was a goner and agreed that the show could have gone either way, which makes it that great.
Re: ***Official Breaking Bad Topic: Meth is being made in bunches*** yeah last weeks episode was probably the best episode I've seen of a TV show ever* *I haven't watched the Wire yet, but I plan to.
Re: ***Official Breaking Bad Topic: Meth is being made in bunches*** whoah whoah whoah whoah whoah there it is
Re: ***Official Breaking Bad Topic: Meth is being made in bunches*** Love The Wire. Am actually re-watching it right now. Three weeks ago in between some studying for finals, I decided to watch the pilot episode for the first time since I went through the series. I watched all of season 1, and tomorrow I'll finish up watching season 2. I start work for the summer soon, but I plan on watching the rest of the seasons over the summer. Such an amazing show. I agree completely though, The Wire did that well, and Breaking Bad is starting to do it at a very high level as well.
Re: ***Official Breaking Bad Topic: Meth is being made in bunches*** Wait, this isn't the official Mizzou thread! :curses:
Re: ***Official Breaking Bad Topic: Meth is being made in bunches*** "Tell your douchebag brother in law to go towards the light" Pretty good episode so far
Re: ***Official Breaking Bad Topic: Meth is being made in bunches*** Bryan Cranston is killing it tonight...As long as Breaking Bad is on the air he deserves the Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actor
Re: ***Official Breaking Bad Topic: Meth is being made in bunches*** Gus' smirk is on another level of smirks. I love it.
Re: ***Official Breaking Bad Topic: Meth is being made in bunches*** I know that I say it every week but the writing and acting on this show are on another level. Everyone involved on this show is giving their best effort.
Re: ***Official Breaking Bad Topic: Meth is being made in bunches*** Truth. A very "slow" episode as far as nothing really happening, but so much did happen, if that makes sense. Gus isn't playing around at all. We talked about it on the first page, but I really think he's gonna die at the end of the seasons. He's digging himself a hole that he won't be able to get out of.
Re: ***Official Breaking Bad Topic: Meth is being made in bunches*** Well there is all this mention that Walt possibly becomes the kingpin in the end...gotta think he has to go through Gus to get there and to become fully immersed in the drug game
Re: ***Official Breaking Bad Topic: Meth is being made in bunches*** Yeah it's going to be interesting to see how the series ends, because Vince Gilligan said it would end with Walt becoming a kingpin. Which, like you said, would mean he would have to go past Gus. Should be an awesome storyline to the end.
solid episode, kind of slow, but it needed to be based on where the story lines were. I bet next week's is great.
this is going to sound a little lofty but I would compare some of the "slower" Breaking Bad episodes to Hemingway's iceberg writing style. Although there wasnt a whole lot of action tonight there was tons of stuff under the surface thats sets up for conflict in the future.
oh I know. I definitely wasn't hating on the episode. The acting, dialogue, and camera work still made it very entertaining and worth watching. I just meant that I expected tonight's episode to be kind of slow, based on where the story was. Slow doesn't necessarily equal bad.
Man this show. You think the legless hitman is going to be a major wrench in the system but of course gus knew he would have to take him out. Crazy good episode.
