Barcelona defender/midfielder Rafael Marquez is believed to be extremely close to agreeing a deal with MLS outfit New York Red Bull.

Reports suggest the 31-year old Mexico national team captain will soon sign a four-year deal worth $2.8million a year.

Marquez’s arrival in the North American top flight will be a major coup with the Latin-American community likely to get right behind the player who has had a brilliantly successful career thus far.

It will also be a huge inclusion for the Red Bulls who only last week unveiled the signing of Marquez’s former Barcelona teammate and ex-Arsenal and France star Thierry Henry.

Mourinho plots amazing Real Madrid deal: Kaka for Barcelona striker Ibrahimovic
    22.07.10 | tribalfootball.com
READ MORE NEWS ON: Arsenal, Barcelona, Chelsea, Didier Drogba, Diego, Diego Milito, Jose Mourinho, Kaka, Real Madrid, Zlatan Ibrahimovic

Jose Mourinho has asked Real Madrid to explore the sensational prospect of signing Barcelona striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

El Mundo Deportivo says Mourinho knows it would be difficult, but he has requested Real's directors to sound out Barca about Ibra's availability.

Mourinho isn't confident Karim Benzema can handle being his chosen No9, as he enjoyed with Didier Drogba at Chelsea and Diego Milito at Inter. Instead, the Special Juan sees Ibra as the ideal centre-forward to lead his line this coming season.

The amazing transfer would take another twist, however, if Barca fail to prise Cesc Fabregas away from Arsenal.

Indeed, Real see that prospect as being a clincher in the deal. Mourinho would happily offer Kaka in exchange for Ibrahimovic - and with no midfield signing, he is confident Barca would be open to the amazing swap.

Toulouse midfielder Moussa Sissoko claims Manchester City and Lyon have expressed an interest in him.

City was on him earlier in the transfer period but went after some other targets. Second day in a row that another midfielder has been discussed in the rumors. I think Milner is not going to be playing for City next year.

Yes please. Would make us better as a team even if Kaka didn't play a single minute because Ibra would just be stealing minutes from Pedro/Villa.

I could see them swapping Ibra for Kaka to be honest, so don't act like it's totally outlandish.

Only issue is, I don't see how much playing time Kaka would be getting with our midfield. I don't even know why we're going after midfield to be honest (outside of Cesc, who they want because he's Catalan). Our midfield is stacked to the point that I'm not even sure how much playing time Keita will get this year.

Busquets and Xavi are locks, and then you also have Iniesta, for three spots....Fabregas would probably start over Iniesta at this point, but I'm not sure if Kaka would or wouldn't.

Milan set a cash only price at 12.5m

They are willing to lose 2.5 off of the price they paid for The Hunter.

I think Liverpool offered Babel for Huntelaar in a swap.

I would expect both Huntelaar and Gattuso to be out the door in the next week or so...........

Materazzi to the USA if Inter win Club World Cup?

Sky Sports 24 reported some important news for Nerazzurri defender, Marco Materazzi. According to the Italian news outlet, the Inter #23, who has a contract until 2012, may be considering a move away from Inter before retirement. Sky reports that Matrix has decided that if Inter win the Club World Cup this fall, he will leave Milan for the USA in order to experience American football. Inter will be leaving for the USA in a few days to compete in friendly matches but Materazzi may be doing more than just playing while he is in North America.

Curious to see not only if the rumors that the Sounders want to offload Ljungberg are true, but if we're going to pursue another DP in the process.
