Interesting play just happened in the Ms x Twins game for the Unspoken Rules crowd. Guy on second. Grounder into the hole between first and second, pitcher goes to cover, runner safe but pitcher gets hurt and falls down with the ball in his glove. Runner, now on third, sees it advances and scores. Id def go for the plate but wondering if the Ms are gonna throw at them now
I saw the replay and Saucedo dropped the ball. Wonder if he had kept it if the umps would’ve went the runner back
Goldschmidt being bad, Contreras hurt, and their old as starters not being good outside of Gray. Vibes are not good in St. Louis
He's improved drastically this year. Whatever the Cardinals had him doing was working. Last night he said he wouldnt do anything different. I do think the umpires need to make sure the batters are in the batter box and the catchers are in theirs two. Im sure they dont even bother to check/enforce it
Worried about: Xander Bogaerts- getting unlucky but he looks awful at the plate Castellanos- no value besides his bat which is terrible this year. Don't know how long you can wait with just how bad he's been Bregman- haven't been able to watch but his savant page is very blue
Which one of these bottom 10 teams is most likely to make the playoffs? Cincy, Arizona, Toronto, SF, STL, LAA, Houston.
add corbin carroll to the convo. the shoulder isn’t right and the power is zapped (i understand he went yard yesterday). feels like it’s gonna be one of the lost seasons.
Houston Arizona SF in that order. Don’t think any of the others have much of a chance. Cincy has a path but I think they needed a few of their starters to hit and I don’t see it with montas/abbott
Headed to Tampa for work and have a free night tonight. May head to the Rays-White Sox game. Will have to be the least attended game I’ve ever seen.
Slow start for Riley as well but his exit velo has been better lately. Kinda wild how good their offense has been with three of their best hitters getting off to slow starts
somehow, someway I believe Atlanta's top of the order will come alive in the next 3 weeks. I am a very courageous fellow
Since he’s in the topic title, just want to point out that the mad lad played catcher with a fucking broken thumb and torn ligaments in his catching hand and was still dropping bombs two years ago (played 18 innings against the Astros in the playoffs). He’s a psycho and I love him.
Cease and Robert are the only two from those “stacked” white sox teams that haven’t been complete busts
This is fucking crazy. Dunning, Bradford, Eovaldi, Scherzer, Degrom, Mahle. Jung and Langford hurt too The Rangers had to trade for Robbie Grossman because Langford’s injury today lol Cueto might actually start a game for the Rangers
Pretty interesting look at batter luck from the angle of quality of pitching faced https://theathletic.com/5477675/202...t-luck-for-hitters?source=user-shared-article
eovaldi has been fine the past 3 years and his is just a pulled muscle in his leg but the other 2 for sure just brutal
one will turn 40 during this year and has had recent injury issues. Degrom hasn't been healthy for a full year since 2020. Eovaldi has a long history with injuries. Eovaldi and Degrom are right about 35. And all 3 rely on pretty high velo. None of this is surprising.
