Arsene said this today: afcstuff @afcstuff 3h3 hours ago Wenger: "Coquelin is running again, hopefully Cazorla will be back mid-February. Alexis could feature next week."
So, both will be back before Wilshere who had a similar time table but was injured 3 months earlier. Our midfield is so bad right now, pray they get back and Elneny is good.
I know we get about as much info as Pats fans but some of you guys are pretty adept at keeping up with shit on social media. I just wondered if EPL teams at least posted who was out game by game the announcers seem to get some info although they do not disclose much.
Yeah as far as disclosing the exact nature of injuries and the expected timetable for return the PL is by far the most vague/least forthcoming of all the sports I've ever followed. You can't get away with saying "he has a little niggle, hoping he will be available in 2 weeks" in the USA.
I have been following EPL games for a long time but this is the first year I have actually tried to pay attention to more than just watching games on tv. It does seem to be difficult to get info. It is nice having you regulars from all fanbases who track shit as a whole and know whats going on though.
Arsenals website has a complete breakdown of all the injuries and return timetables. In the news section I believe and full site version far more detailed than mobile, iirc.
That list makes me feel ok about the fact that we played bad, looked tired, but are in first. It also makes me feel like getting any of those guys back = the same as January signings to Wenger.
This team right now is a pretty good striker, the best #10 in the world, a top 3-5 CB in the world, and a world class goalie. Besides that, we've been pretty much shit recently. Had the best pair of fullbacks in the world then all of a sudden they've turned to shit. Gotta fix this shit before Liverpool and Stoke and would be nice if we could get through Sunderland without an embarrassing defeat. /rant
LANS man. But seriously, it's a concern of mine, specifically Jack. I just don't know that a dude who has been out 5 months can offer anything without disrupting things. And I feel pretty confident AW will force him into the team because that's what he does. We are in a position now where as we don't need to worry about the big teams so long as we get three from shit. Doesn't need to be pretty, we shouldn't care if it is. Today was bad as a fan but encouraging IMO. Need to be able to sit back and rely on the best back line/keeper in the league, while relying on Ozil and co to scrape a goal.
He won't force Jack into the lineup and that shouldn't be a worry. He has never played as poorly as Theo or Ox did today. Ox is the biggest liability in the squad and might be coming time to sell him or loan him. Great talent but he's a mess.
Oh he has been as useless, no question. Just need to shore up the MF, nothing we haven't talked about before.
Kinda wondering if Ramsey needs to play as an attacking MF ie on the right again. His simple passing is mediocre and loses the ball too much plus he's greedy af. Still high on him but he needs a pass master next to him if he wants to play the b2b role.
Can't have more than one player on loan to the same team (I think that is premier league specific), but we basically had to recall him in order to send Debuchy there for the rest of the year. I'm completely OK with both of these moves. Serge wasn't playing there and Debuchy I could give a shit about.
at least Gnabry could possibly offer an option off the bench. the Jeff and Iwobi were never really going to see meaningful minutes there were only there because there was nobody else.
El-Nenny skipped training to expedite the transfer. Meanwhile... @KeithTheGooner: I've been following El Nenny's career closely since I first heard of him a few hours ago
Zidane just named the RM coach. If he does something there I'd love to have him as Henry's assistant someday.
Also Mikel played a half for U-21 against Blackburn, doesn't mean shit. Best part, Jeff scored two in that game. Also, quote from someone at Dortmund on PEA. "[The goal is that] our team stays together. We do not have as much money as the top stars in the Premier League, but we have a lot of other things to offer - for example our players were able to celebrate Christmas." Christmas is over you got your break. Now come on over, let's make some more money and win a title here. You mathematically could not catch Bayern until next March.
I don't know about everyone. I still think the FA Cup should be taken seriously I've enjoyed winning the past two years. Ozil has played a ton lately though.
well id like to agree on years when we arent number one and havent won the league in 10+ years. its obvious that Wenger will play at least 6 starters so its not that my silly wish will matter much. I just remember the stupid league cup all too well though.
Wenger needs to make Debuchy play before he leaves. Sounds like El-Neny got his permit so hopefully that's announced tomorrow. Put Giroud, Ozil, and Alexis on the bench; only play Ozil if absolutely needed.
Ozil needs to be no where near the stadium imo. If we can't get by Sunderland without him, then we don't deserve to stay in the FA Cup.
You are clearly inebriated already, trust me I know a thing or two about being wasted. Deep down you know he has been shit, not even a 10 goal performance vs. a woeful Sunderland could make up for his shortcomings thus far.
Team put Ozil in a bubble. Really the only thing I'd like to see is a picture of him and the Pugs on Instagram Saturday.
According to KingTut who seem to have been on top of it the whole time, everything is done except some shit about a Visa. This is a big week, would have been a lot more confident if Alexis would have made the bench for Sunderland and El-Neny was done a few days ago. RIP Ramsey's hamstrings.
Friend, you are conditioned for disappointment. It's okay, my father abandoned me too. It's only the 7th. Daddy still has a 21 day grace period before we hope for him to come back to us before the harvest starts. If Dad doesn't come back, you always know Mesut can really handle the tractor and Alex can fix anything.
Fuck all that. Drunk posts are sober thoughts, love. My weekend has officially begun so I'm enjoying a delicate interplay betwixt cocaine, alcohol, and a rampant Exeter City FC. Highly recommend.
