Schniederjans playing really well at -9 for tourney. Hopefully he can make enough money in his remaining starts to get his card.
I didn't bother telling you guys about the 4 I carded in one round. I was so damn stoked.. Finished birdie par birdie too..
I've never even accidently come close to an eagle. but I was a combined 2' on 2 par 3's during a round once
The closest I've ever been to a hole in 1/holing out (other than a chip) was my first time playing golf. Friends dad took us to a par 3 course when I was about 9 and I put one 2 inches from the cup.** **i had been to the driving range several times, but that was my first time on a course.
Lotion on my gooch mid-round in Alabama humidity with a 100+ heat index is savagery. It's all about drying out the cellar...Last thing I want when I'm hitting a golf ball is a greasy peppermint crotch...To be fair, I've never tried it, but I'm pretty sure I wouldn't like it.
My brother hit a hole in one 2 months ago. Started playing last year. Same guy who shot a good 8 point very first time bow hunting
Have had a good number of eagles, but havent holed out from more than 50 yards out Closest I ever came was when I was in like 7th grade. Was far enough out that I was hitting a full 3 wood. There was this old stone wall to the right of the green up on a little slope. I hit the ball and it starts cutting right, ends up hitting the wall and rolling to less than 1" from the hole.
Have had a lot of eagles but no hole in one's here..........yet. My brother got his first one on Monday. 211 yds in a tournament. Won a set of irons. If he had got his hole in one on one of the other par 3's he would have won a new car.
I once got pulled in a raffle to try to hit a hole in one for a million bucks. I had to hit it in front of a bunch of people. Put it on the green from 190 out so I was happy.
PGA tour live made its debut this week. $5 per month to be able to watched featured groups on thursday/friday https://www.pgatourlive.com
PGA brass is probably so damn happy. They got so lucky launching it this week and Tiger is playing like he is.
Missed my first by an inch or so last Friday. Rolled behind the cup so it looked like it dropped when it went behind the pin. Made my birdie and was happy. Jackass in the group behind me then proceeds to cup it. I was pissed!
I hit two shots within 6 inches about a month ago. One caught the lip of the cup on the left edge and finished two inches away on the other side of the hole. The other was a 9-iron I sucked back by the hole about three feet that stopped 6 inches away. Those are the two closest shots I've ever had to a hole-in-one. I have a friend who was fucking around one day and was trying to hit a goose that was flying really low and made a hole-in-one. He's also made two in the same round in 2010.
I try to avoid playing northwest of Columbus because of that fucking Honda plant. Another thing they do is talk and laugh really loudly the entire time so if you're within 150 yards of their group, you can hear their banter. Fuckers.
There was a guy in Prattville that had 3 in one month a few years ago, including 2 in the same round.
Just got back from a golf trip in Western North Carolina. I ended up playing 4 rounds all at new courses for me. Highlands Falls CC: Fun little course. Very tight but some interesting shots and in very good condition. I pumped some drives OB, the par 5's were target golf that you couldn't reach in 2 shots. I shot a 73. Highlands CC: Old school Donald Ross. Only 6200 from the tips but played much tougher. Immaculate condition. It was tight off the tee as well and I lost a few balls on the front 9. 6 birdies and I shot a 71. Wade Hampton: This course is badass. Very challenging from the back tees (about 7100). Some of the best views I have ever seen. It rained on us a lot but it was a good day. I shot 74. Mountaintop: I really enjoyed this course. It couldn't have been in better condition and the amenities were top notch. There was a full chef at the turn making tacos and panini sandwiches, the halfway house had a make your own root beer float station. The clubhouse was breathtaking. Very cool property. I shot 71 from all the way back, I was proud of that until I found out Justin Thomas played the day before and set the course record at 61 (beating Robby Shelton's 64 2 days prior) Overall Wade Hampton is my favorite course, but Mountaintop was very enjoyable and a place that you just didn't want to leave. I have a soft spot for old Donald Ross courses so I really enjoyed Highlands CC as well. Highlands Falls was in good shape but they didn't have much land so you played a lot of target golf. Here is an album I put together with a few pictures. http://imgur.com/a/qWoBY
Patton Kizzire had 12 birdies and a double today on the Web. Really hope he keeps playing well with the big boys next year
One of the guys playing with Justin flipped his cart and broke his elbow. Previous record was 65 from the tips and they are way back
That's awesome. I have been fortunate enough to play there a few times. It's a phenomenal course. Mountaintop is incredible as well, but I don't like the layout as much. 61 is really damn strong out there.
Joshuam2107 I'm going to say I was completely wrong about yesterday and Tiger. I don't want to be on the same side as this guy: Alan Shipnuck @AlanShipnuck 2h2 hours ago Lololol, it's Friday. At a B-list event. And he probably won't make a bunch more 35-footers. But it is fun to watch.
The cynicism regarding Tiger may have reached the apex this weekend. I just checked twitter and saw this one: Bill Simmons @BillSimmons 9m9 minutes ago My dad just sent me an excited text b/c Tiger is 2 back after Friday in a non-major. The 2008 U.S. Open feels like it happened 35 yrs ago.
Tiger has to walk before he can run, anybody ths was tinking he was gonna compete at the British was kidding themselves
I just want to see Tiger humble himself just slightly and play in some of the Fall swing events. Not a bunch. Just a couple because he needs more competitive rounds under his belt putting pressure on his swing. And he has to figure out his first tee box woes. The only way to do that is to tee it up on more Thursdays in more events.
I think Tiger has to play the Frys due to some PGA thing where he played overseas. I can't remember exactly.
You're gay. Side note - green is gone but cj or Lamar miller are still available for cheap. Think fire sale cheap
This thought really helped me, never heard it like that before. Was messing around in my living room and that thought made it easier for me to get the weight to the back without swaying. Interested to get to a range and give it a whirl.
I love tips like this...some other's I've heard recently... On grip strength- "Imagine you're holding a full open tube of toothpaste, squeeze it just strong enough so it doesn't come out." "On a scale of 1-10, 1 being a dead fish and 10 being Silver Back Gorilla....Four" On swinging the Club- "Imagine you're swinging a rope with a rock attached to the end"
