I think they are making a bigger deal of this "flop" on spurlock. It's not like he went down clutching his face. Just fell back a little after nearly getting concussed. But it's not like be faked being concussed.

Penn State's Bill O'Brien on the UCF return game Reply Harrisburg Patriot-News: The possibility of Big Ten schedule expansion is a main reason why Penn State has not finalized its contract with Central Florida. O'Brien said Saturday the Lions would like to travel to Orlando to play Central Florida but must wait until the conference's future league schedule format is finalized. "We've committed to 2013 (with Central Florida) and then the wording in the contract is, because of the expansion of the Big Ten, we really can't commit to anything, you know, where there's black and white. There's a gray area there,'' O'Brien said during a stop in Hershey on Saturday. "So we're waiting for the Big Ten to see what they decide to do as far as, you know, nine-game conference schedule, eight-game conference schedule. Then maybe we can decide where we go. But we worded it that way, in our contract with Central Florida, that if we did have an opportunity to go to Florida to play them … they would kind of get first right of refusal to do that."

i'm with you on that and mattropolis is so freakin horrible. nuthugging aside he is just a complete moron when it comes to virtually everything. i cannot read a post by him without thinking "wow you're so stupid." i mean look at that quote. how often do you read people on those boards saying "our coaching staff is horrible, blah blah blah?" it happens from time to time, but a majority of people just say "GOL sucks" and can recognize that certain coaches (e.g. panagos) are very good at what they do. so the guys a moron and making stupid assumptions all so that he can do a faggy ;) at the end.
on a positive note to some of you, it appears carson or at least his show, got canned. i'm assuming none of you care though since i doubt anyone listened.

But FWIW: BOB has every intention of returning the game. He and GOL are close and in fact, when BOB accepted his various awards after this season (and when he was the keynote speaker at the American Football Coaches' Association Convention) he thanked two men instrumental to his development as a coach. One was Bill Belichek and the other was George O'Leary. The two men did this deal together and the Administrations worked out the language. There were some circumstances with B1G scheduling that meant the contract had to have some "creative language." That's all. BOB's statements about coming here were made BEFORE the B1G announced that they wouldn't increase their number of games until 2015. So the "soft" language isn't ABOUT returning the game, it's about WHEN they would return the game. IF the B1G had said they were going to 9 or 10 league games as early as next year it could have pushed our return game out until they had room on their schedule or could figure out a buyout situation with another opponent. Either way, both sides were talking with candor and intent to do the right thing. Can't we give them the benefit of the doubt in light of the fact that they (Penn State's current Administration and Head Coach) have no track record of doing anything wrong? Game contracts are difficult because of all of the various interested parties (two schools, two conference offices, and TV partners), so changes happen. But personally, I'll be shocked if this return doesn't happen. If Penn State wants to recruit in Florida during their post-season ban, this is a great way to have a presence here. With the new playoff system there are more and more attractive opponents that are willing to play us moving forward. You all just have to have a little patience and let stuff work itself out. The Braves have me more excited about baseball than I have been in years. Now my company needs to stop screwing around and transfer me to Atlanta.
