Hitt texted Big East commissioner Mike Aresco about Tulane’s interest in the Big East, according to records obtained by the Sentinel. "Scott Cowen at Tulane wants to talk with me about possibilities for Tulane in the Big East. Scott is a friend. Will listen and then call you. John," Hitt wrote to Aresco on Nov. 18. Aresco responded, "Great, John, their AD, Rick Dixon, is an old friend and he called this afternoon. They are extremely interested. This would be a big one for us, important market, great school academically, and Scott would be in our tent on the BCS revenue share matter we have to deal with as well as other things. guys i'm gonna preface this post by saying this could very well be rivals level stupid. that said... is there any chance we see FIU or even FAU added as the 12th team? no they aren't as established nor anywhere near as good as a tulsa or southern miss, however if aresco thought that new orleans was a big market i would think he'd cum his pants for miami. ucf and usf don't cover that market and while FIU doesn't either, it seems all they care about is having a school in that market. i doubt academics is as huge to the big east as those texts made it seem too...just one of the few positives they can highlight about tulane. i have my doubts that hitt and/or genshaft are as close of friends with the president(s) down there as he was with tulane's so maybe that's most of the factor in the wave getting the invite. anyways the thought crossed my mind so i figured i'd ask about it. i know most will dismiss it as nothing but aside from possible stonewalling from ucf and usf, i can't really see a reason why one of those schools wouldn't be on the radar instead of tulsa. i do hope they aren't invited however.
FAU has the better stadium(smaller brighthouse) compared to FIU but fan support sucks at both. wish UCF would add the same seat covers between the 40s on the away side, that can't cost that much and the stadium would look a lot better when not completely sold out Spoiler

to be fair...i would have never seen, nor cared, about a single piece of baseball marketing but since people are actually talking about this a bit - its probably a success. That said, i dont give them credit for being that clever.
