Thought of a few more, pertaining to music at least. Bob Dylan bores the shit out of me. While I totally see what the Beatles appreciate what the Beatles did for music, etc., I wouldn't cross the street to go see them if the dead ones rose from the grave and they put on a free concert in my neighbors yard. I want to punch Robert Plant in the face. The Doors are probably the most overrated band in history.
Whoa, whoa, whoa, bro. Difference of opinion--that's all. Let's put this behind us and get back to bettering TMB. Concerted efforts and whatnot.
Don't get me wrong, The Doors wrote some great songs, but so did Ted Nugent... So there's that. While I would absolutely give Angelina Jolie the best twelve seconds of her live, I don't think she is hot at all.
You should read more into what vick did and the brutality of dogfighting. He's a fucking sick person and should still be in jail for what he did.
He was in jail, numbnuts. And meanwhile, someone that physically abused an actual CHILD remained unprosecuted and free. Who can give a shit about a bunch of dogs when there are babies in this country that go to bed hungry?
Because i can care about multiple things. They aren't mutually exclusive. Children going to be hungry is a symptom of something totally different. Economic inequality is always going to be a thing. A fuckboy like vick owning and operating a massive illegal gambling ring dedicated to the torture of animals that would not exist if he did not put forth a great deal of effort into doing it is different than economic inequality. Vick is a disgusting individual who went way out of his way to torture and kill thousands of dogs (not to mention the negative externalities that come with a massive illegal industry).
Again, what Vick did was wrong and illegal. I don't condone it. But it was a bunch of fucking animals. It's not like he hurt an actual human being, and that is a BIG, BIG difference. If you can't see that, you're a sick fuck in your own right.
Yeah, I was kidding. I have one of those non-slip mats in my tub that they give to geriatrics. I take a lot of showers while drunk, or getting drunk.
One year was over kill. The people who think he should still be in jail are out of touch with reality.
Animal cruelty is fucking detestable but spending more time, effort and money to champion animal rights than providing homes for foster children or feeding and clothing the underprivileged is downright silly
The government should institute a voluntary, reversible sterilization program. Government pays for it and if the individual ever wants it reversed, they do it on their own dime. Also, make it mandatory for fathers who don't pay child support and for mothers who can't or won't name the father.
Who's championing animal rights? Nobody's calling for police to be going door to door to check on animals. But when someone is caught running a massive dogfighting empire they should face way stiffer penalties than a year in jail. Cruelty to animals is the number 1 sign of future sociopaths.
shit man I don't know how y'all can care about anything if you keep comparing things to unreachably awful situations. This is a thing that happens?
eeeh.. I very much enjoy steak but I rarely order it when I go out to eat. Steak is more of a benchmark than a universal favorite. I worked in a butchers shop for 3.5 years and had 1st choice on a lot of cuts. A perfectly marbled Ribeye or a medium rare Filet Mignon are a real treat but I get them in once in a while mood. Far from my favorite meal or dish.
thats my stance as well. providing for hungry kids and stuff should always have a priority. that being said animal suffering should be taken serious and pointless animal suffering should be penalized quite a bit. A thing like Vick did is the work of fucking psychos that should be in prison as long as possible if only because they are fucking psychos
I see the argument you are making and think you are getting some flack for how you presented it. Animal Abuse and Children abuse are mutually exclusive and there is a huge place for both movements. Both movements are for helping the helpless. There is a place to help animals they deserve funding to stop it just like child abuse. The bullshit is when you hear someone state something like "Seeing a dog die is sadder to me than a child dying" or "I helpless animal is sadder than a helpless child".. I know you all have heard this from multiple people and its fucking nuts.
Animal cruelty is a very early sign of mental instability. Early signs of it have led to a direct correllation in future child abuse and other fucked up shit. I've read about serial killers rapists as i've found trying to figure out the inner workings of their minds fascinating. Every single one started out messing with animals. Its a very important to nip in the bud as a prevention to stop more heinous crimes down the road.
I don't believe that's a terribly unpopular stance, what you see/hear on the internet is not representative of people as a whole usually That said, that is just a stupid blatantly retarded opinion I would only expect out of someone much gayer thanyou(or what I know of you) A lot of animal's rights people are crazies that don't know what animals prefer and can't appreciate that raising animals for food isn't inherently bad for animals. They get to live free of stress and predators for fuck sake, they have it good But how we treat animals is reflective on how we value life as a society especially how we treat dogs which were domesticated and bred to be our companions and part of human families because of how beneficial they are to people. Most of what you said was straight up fucking retarded though
How can we fund research into making bigger flatscreen TVs when cancer is still killing thousands in this country? Animal rights and childrens rights have no correlation and funding for one does not detract from the other. It's not like theres some pool of money out there that is being fought over by those 2 groups, and every time a dog is adopted a children has to miss a meal. Your opinion is unpopular because its fucking retarded and has no basis in rational thought

You wouldnt cross the street if George Harrison and John Lennon rose from the dead, reunited with Paul and Ringo and held a free concert? A band that is on damn near all important musical acts short lists of idols/inspirations and arguably the most profound and successful act of all time. Dont sugar coat it and say you appreciate what the Beatles did. Be truthful and and say you dont like the Beatles. I have heard from plenty of people that the Beatles are not for them. Shit, my favorite band is one you would not think of for most people: The Smashing Pumpkins I saw Bob Dylan a few years back and he was awful. Just should not be performing live any longer. You bet your ass I would go to a free concert of his. Its the opportunity to watch a music icon. Its fucking Bob Dylan. Debaser, you just dogged 4 of the biggest artists/groups in modern era(1950-Present) music history. Who are your favorites?
I guess I was a little harsh, but you're right, I just don't like the Beatles. My favorites are, in no particular order: Pavement Ween Sonic Youth Phish Dinosaur Jr. And a ton of other shit.
I enjoy his music, but George Strait doesn't write much, if any, of his own music and, from the show I've been to of his, he doesn't even play an instrument. he just sits on a stool with a guitar in his lap. he has a good voice, but that's about all he has musically, so i can totally see how someone could call him a hack.
Still very unpopular. You know what the common man thinks of metal. BUUUUUT IT'S JUST A BUNCH OF NOISE!!?'gbbhubg!!$$!!gbrnfm
Depends on how you look at it. Michael Angelo Batio may be the fastest guitar player ever, but I wouldn't say he's better than Chet Atkins. Yngwie Malmsteen may be the most technically proficient, but I wouldn't say he's better than Jimi. You also have to judge those guys based on their climate of music. Those metal guys wouldn't be playing that stuff had they grown up in the 50s. If you're just talking about chops though, yeah, Tosin Abasi destroys Clapton.
Not true. Assumption that Heavy Metal would not have been played in its current form without the 60s and 70s rock.
Also, though I don't believe my prior post assumed it, I have no problem stating that many trailblazing musicians were/are uniquely creative.
