I don't think stuff like that is the sole reason tragedies like this happen, but I think they desensitize children towards violence. As adults we know that games like that are fake and that kind of action is not normal. Kids should not be playing those kind of games, imo. And even though they have age limits on who can buy them, some parents still buy their kids those kind of games and let the TV, XBox, and the gruesome game be the baby sitter. It's just another sign that points to the culture of our country changing in a downward direction. Kids hear and see violence much more than ever. Violence and promiscuity are much more prevalent and it is becoming increasingly hard to not be exposed. I admire parents who take the time to raise their kids right. But there are far too many who do not. I am not blaming anyone or anything for the tragedy that happened in Connecticut, just making an observation.

These are kids that are doing that instead of beating the shit out of each other playing football like we used to do as we hoped and prayed that the video games we played would become more graphic and violent so they would be more fun.

It has been a very sad day in our town. Thank you all for letting me sign off and go to my children and our friends. Our children are all safe and struggling to make sense of what has happened today. There are 20 children – all 4, 5 and 6 year olds who have died. Many of them siblings of our children’s friends. There are services this evening where the town will come together to show our support for the families involved. I don’t know what else to say. Please just keep these families in your thoughts and prayers. The bad news I've been dreading.

I don't think this is a safe assumption. Albeit people on the autism spectrum vary greatly in their abilities and social comfort, the majority of individuals with cognitive impairments I've encountered through my job either want or have a boyfriend/girlfriend.

Releasing the wrong name of the shooter is ridiculous. Apparently facts are meaningless as long as you are the first to "report" something.
I mean I just had a final on autism and asperger's. The only difference is the language deficiency. Although I am failing to understand how having aspergers is a defense for this. I mean, the only thing that make sense is the lack of empathy for others aspect. There isn't any sufficient evidence that supports people with aspergers committ crimes. They are actually more likely to be victims of a crime. My guess is he probably had something more severe thanaspergers. Actually most people with aspergers that committ violent crimes have been found to have another more extreme disorder along with Aspergers. Or he could just be socially akward and purely evil
I used to get into my old high school to help coach the wrestlers by just walking in the front door. Also could just walk into my moms school (elementary) and waltz a good two minutes to her room. I would imagine they've cut that shit out though by now
