Its not like she has no reason not to trust these people in the context of the show, either. She knows the governor isn't just going to hand over her weapons and let her go with everything she knows.
he's just watching them. There ain't no tv, so u gotta find some kind of entertainment. They are also trophies
Alright, I didn't know if there were any significance or he was just hanging out watching some decapitated heads.
I felt like I was supposed to be creeped out or but in actuality I was just like, "Huh. That guy is weird."
They really should have either waited another episode before putting that scene in or given him the line from the comics.
Exactly. Meanwhile, back of the mind, I'm thinking at the writers for another completely predictable "plot twist." "Oh, so the guy who just led them out to slaughter some Marines and then lied to everyone about it isn't a good person? Whoa." [/monotone.]
I can understand her wanting her sword back. It's a zombie apocalypse and she's used to having to fend for herself. Her very existence has been tied to that sword. It's like taking away something very personal. You could also look at it this way: she's a black female samurai living during the zombie apocalypse. Any samurai would be pissed if you took their sword away. Also, samurai swords would be hard to come by and are extremely efficient weapons for a zombie apocalypse. Thus you'd want it back. Even if they told you they'd give it back to you, you'd want it back. I like her character. However, I will agree with those saying it's annoying that she is just bitching all the time and mean mugging. They could give her character a greater range of emotional responses.
I liked this solely for the amount of thought/effort that you put into the samurai ninja paragraph. Her character is fine for now...just seems like they've oversimplified her into mean mugging bitch. It doesn't help matters either that she was introduced at the very end of S2, they took a big plot jump b/t seasons, and here we are in S3 not knowing much about her. Completely unrelated note: We've gone over how this isn't a zombie origin story quite a bit, and for the most part, it doesn't affect the story. The only time I notice it is when there's dialogue b/t people like Andrea and the Governor who are meeting for the first time. There's no "where were you when this started?" "how did you first survive?" "this is so fucked up. What do you know about it?" Just is weird not hearing them talk about it because those would be the first conversations I would have.
I think they'll develop her more, and her character will get better as the season progresses. I was hoping the pack mules would be around longer. I guess they could always make more. What was the point of her decapitating them? Was she trying to shut them up as to not blow their cover? It was my understanding that the governor's crew had already spotted them. Also, I think the governor's acting has been solid, but the scientist has been relatively poor. I understand that he's supposed to be creepy and socially awkward but they don't have to beat us over the head with it. Was almost hard to watch the scene at the breakfast table with how awkward and weird the scientist was being.
Havent watched the latest episode but glad theyre finally untroducing David Morrisey as a character that the comicbookfags have been looking forward to for some time.
Yeah they were making too much noise so she killed them. Merle had already snuck around behind them but I don't think they realized they had been spotted.
Weren't Michonne's walkers her boyfriend and best friend or something like that? Her comment to Andrea, "it was easier than you think", threw me off in that regard. Also, I'm in the camp that likes the governor's casting. I realize he looks nothing like his comic counterpart and Trujo would be perfect solely for that but Morrisey sounds the part of a ruthless son of a bitch. Big fan.
Yeah, I think Trejo was too obvious and would have overacted the part. Morrissey has done fine so far.
yeah i think the governor casting is perfect.Even when being evil as fuck he seems so calm.Loved how he murdered the group of soldiers.
Have no issues with Michonnes behavior in the context of the show;if anything Andrea is annoyingly ready to trust. Post apocalyptic zombie world, every resource is scarce, every trust should be earned. She is trying to keep quiet and listen and observe and get her shit back, while Andrea is telling her life story. First thing I would think is,they haven't killed us because we're women;but they haven't given the weapon back either. Of course she wants her sword back, she doesn't have to reload it,it has kept her alive;it's incredibly valuable and important to her regardless of how well Woodbury is guarded.
Yeah, this. Andrea is stupid and deserves her rape zone. #republicancomment. But seriously, in that world, how can you not pick up on the danger of waltzing around a heavily guarded area, unarmed, female, and receiving special attention? Stupid women.
Did everyone in happyland have weapons except those 2? Or was it just the men in the "army" portion of the group?
I am through Vol 5 of the TPB. I am just going to buy all 16 of them. Brings me back to my childhood, except for the gore....
Next episode getting some hype... http://comicbook.com/blog/2012/11/02/the-walking-deads-next-episode-is-the-best-ever/ There is a post in the comment section below the article detailing everything that supposedly happens. I honestly can't see how all of that would fit into 1 episode. And I certainly can't see how a single episode would propel this series into Emmy territory.
The next one is the season break correct? I imagine a lot will happen to keep people interested during the break.
I did give a little more credit to the hype article because it's from a comic site and most of us know how highly thought of the comics are. And I want few things more than to see this series become amazing in every aspect I just haven't seen even a glimmer of that potential since the first couple episodes of the series. Even with the first 3 episodes of this season definitely being above average IMO still none of them were Mad Men or Breaking Bad level good. They were really good episodes for a zombie TV show but there wasn't any great dialogue and none of the acting is exactly phenomenal. But if we see some kind of breakthrough with this next episode that would be absolutely fantastic.
I just cant see how this show could ever get to that level. The premise is great, the plot itself is fine, but the dialog and acting is pathetic.
well, I meant to say Emmy nomination. My buddy is a little overboard with the Emmy hopeful. TWD can definitely get a nomination on the writing if it's done correctly. We'll see what happens though.
So this week at the project I was working, a new welding crew started. Two guys, one named Daryl, the other Meryl. Fuck yeah
Not Walking Dead related, but related. In the downtown area for South Carolina there were two bums who lived in an abandoned building, twins, named Ronnie and Donnie.
