hopefully it works... i got an email yesterday saying they're wanting to push the servers to the limit and see if they will continue to work.
Battlefield 3 on the Xbox 360 will ship on two DVD discs: one for singleplayer and one for multiplayer. However, one of the discs will also contain a “high resolution texture” optional install, where users can install the high res texture pack for better visuals. Apparently, the optical drive of the Xbox 360 doesn’t have enough bandwidth to stream the high-res textures, so users will have to give up some free space on their harddrive if they want prettier graphics. It’s unknown whether the PlayStation 3 Blu-ray disc will include a similar install option. UPDATE: It has been confirmed that the PlayStation 3 version will also ship with the same optional texture pack install on the Blu-ray disc.
This is great news: http://www.joystiq.com/2011/10/10/the-beta-and-battlefield-3/ Because the beta is almost pure garbage. It feels like an early code version at the very beginning of the development cycle. Spawning into objects, glitches zooming, terrible hit boxes and damage dispersion. I've still enjoyed playing it, but i was hoping it wasn't close to the final game.
the xbox got the alpha version of the beta. (first one they put together) PC got the true beta which had alot of stuff fixed... so basically anything xbox users told dice was wrong about the game, they just threw it out the window cuz it was already fixed. They really need to fix the servers though, or else its gonna ruin a pretty decent game.
I haven't had server issues since the first day or two. I just can't understand releasing such a poor representation of your product, especially when a major focal group your targeting our CoD users and getting them to convert. They really did screw themselves with the guaranteed beta for users who bought whatever. I dunno, well see. I want to like this game, and love the team aspect but i'm beginning to think more and more I might end up playing CoD again.
me and Buster had a hell of a time playing on Sunday night. Wouldnt let us join a game together, we had to eventually join a game and then the other one hoped that it wasn't full and we could join them. I am very skeptical of EA servers
Ahhh man. It's over? This is the first shooter I've played since Halo 2 many moons ago. Started out sucking pretty hard, couldn't ever see anybody before I was already dead. Once I unlocked the thermal scope things improved dramatically. Even though it was a bitch to see through smoke, I would just move around it and ended up going from like 8 kills a match to 20. It was so much fun on defense in the last session outside. I would just use the thermal on my rifle to scope out enemies in the building windows. Then whip out the grenade launcher and destroy 2-3 at a time.
First thing I do is jump into a jet and play the top gun song. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qGN2Dao8FTU&feature=related
Can't wait for the a guy in a jet to get cute and get too close on a strafing run, so I can put a 120mm shell through his plane.
Looks like the scene from Jarhead. http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=oDIwNcAF7s4
F , your tags will be mine if you use a autosniper Blue, but besides that I am looking forward to seeing TMB in BF since normally it's a COD board.
If I get killed by a sniper on a big conquest map I dedicate my next life just to fucking his world up. By any means possible. Preferably a Hummer grill to the face.
This shows a couple pics of some new maps. This game is going to be insane, though unfortunately I think it will be full of snipers and people camping the jets and helicopters. http://blogs.battlefield.ea.com/bat...n-battlefield-3-multiplayer-map-reveal.aspx##
Has never happened breh . I'm pretty much the American Bond behind the wheel/handle bars. Also can't snipe me out of a tank.
Too much chatter not enough game footage. http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_profilepage&v=DH5k4JhTKhk http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_profilepage&v=DH5k4JhTKhk#t=0s
