You cannot put the same 11 out there in the second half. That was brutal. there have been holes all over the roster that have been exposed the last few months. None of our wingers are interested in taking on anyone 1v1.
Disagree on that, Brennan tries. Deki for sure doesn’t, and Son has to have lost full confidence in his top of the box shots, had a few opportunities and just turns around and recycles possession.

Teams know if they can get us to play it long with Son up top it’s the end of the possession for us. With Richy there are more opportunities to keep possession higher up the field. Also I’m all for Skipp playing at LB next game. Cannot be Royal again.

Yeah, we have players from 4 different managers here and just lost a generational striker to the window. It's going to take more than a single season to sort out. It's probably going to take 2 or 3. Levy is going to need to spend money this window, but we'll be better next season presuming we get a couple of guys this summer who can step in and start (and be better than who they're replacing, of course). Also need to build depth, and that means continuing to improve the academy. . Worst thing we can do is lose this manager. He's not perfect (I certainly think he needs to improve his side selection, though we're not privy to what happens on the practice pitch and in the locker room), but he's miles more likable than our last 3 managers.
Ange actually wants to be here and build something. Spend some money so he can start constructing his team.
KWP back on our radar reportedly. Club grown, covers left and right, made Championship team of the season. I think it would be logical. Please ship Royal the fuck out. Of all the podcasts I listened to this week, Fighting Cock had this coach named Harry something on, and his points were most salient. We have the quick hit speedster forwards but we haven’t locked in the hold up play forwards at all. Deki could, but he’s been so out of confidence that he always slows it to a full stall rather than calmly make the next progressive pass. Richarlison could, but erratic availability. As an archetype, he kept bringing up how we would operate if we had Toney and Grealish. We need that versatility to field composed and creative forwards who can hold up play and who don’t need the opponents to leave room in behind for their speed. Werner needs to not be converted to a permanent signing, he’s one of three who can do the same thing. He was serviceable while Son was at the Asian Cup but not needed if we can reinstall Son at LW. We have an incredible backline and keeper and they don’t ever get a break because the midfield and attackers aren’t holding possession long enough for them to catch their breath and reorganize. Big chance after big chance and it’s not through their own fault. Striker, winger, 6, LB/RB cover. Sell as much deadweight as possible, loan with buy obligation/option if we must.

He's been pounding this point about our lack of forwards who can possess the ball and make the type of passes required to run this system for months and he's probably not wrong. I think they will need to make some decisions at midfield and fullback too.
Nice, Richy done for the season too. Hence his not getting selected for the Brazil team for Copa. We simply have to win v Burnley tomorrow so that we can put out our u18s v City and then only need a draw from Sheffield (this assumes Newcastle don’t win out AND United don’t win the FA cup). But preferably just a win, full guarantee to Europa then.
