As hard as it may be to believe, there were/are more black guys in “white” fraternities at Ole Miss than other southern schools. The fraternities are so big that the “exclusivity” element isn’t really the same as elsewhere. Most of the black members are football and baseball players who went to private schools and black republicans, so there’s still plenty of casual racism.
Yeah frats all exist on the foundational ideal of white aristocracy. Doesn't matter at all how many token black members they have or how much community leaf raking they do

One of my friends that was a huge fratstar recently came out of the closet but it took him until his mid 30’s because of the rampant homophobia he was accustomed to. Not that it was ever accepted in the past, but it's incredible to be a kid in college now, having grown up in a hyper social media culture, and still do something so blatantly racist when you know you're being recorded.
