Well I’m not a scout, but a few 2025 mocks, which are ridiculous, have him really high. I don’t think he goes that high but he started inline then became a threat. That’s huge.
sounds like Mark Zachery might committing sometime in the near future...my guess is that he is already a silent and setting up his announcement
This was posted by Brian Smith, recruiting guy on various sites but most specifically IB. I thought it was interesting to hear his perspective on NIL and how it appears to be helping ND because ND is doing it the right way Spoiler A few thoughts on recruiting, NIL, the Transfer Portal, and players committing to a program over themselves overall. There are 18 schools – generally speaking – capable of winning titles. Nebraska used to be on the list but that’s off until otherwise proven. ND, MI, OSU, PSU, Clem, UGA, AL, AU, UF, FSU, Miami, LSU, TX, A&M, OU, USC, and Oregon. Washington is obviously in that conversation now as well, getting it back to 18. I hope to see Utah in that conversation because of how the Utes are operating, and that brings us to the main point. A combination of big-time financial commitment, tradition, elite coaching and recruiting, and a school’s administration providing what’s needed to players and coaches are necessary to win big. Here’s the rub. You cannot buy loyalty. I cover recruiting in Dixie. The shit I know would shock Driskell (at least sometimes), let alone many of you. These high school recruits (or handlers, whoever) that desire cash to sign with a school or else, ND is pretty much telling them to pound sand. There’s a good reason. The rats are jumping ship at many schools because of NIL demands and/or being told to get out. Now, some schools are desperate at certain spots (DL/OL/CB in particular) and coaches are sometimes caught in between on what to do, but still, it’s a dangerous proposition to give into the demands. To date, too many teams have internal issues because of the NIL aspect of the program not working out (players get pissy about who’s getting the most money does happen, so I hear). It’s ironic, but because of this issue, ND is benefitting more than the teams paying the NIL to get players. A&M had no culture. Jimbo Fisher fired. Saban left Bama because too many players allegedly began to have individual goals (that’s one of the stories I heard) and it hindered his locker room. Saban was done. Kirby Smart is passing on some top recruits because of what’s being asked for (not all NIL, but again, it’s about keeping a culture). PSU won’t buy kids either. They can’t score but the team is truly a team. If the Nittany Lions ever figure out how to throw a forward pass, they might be good. Look at Michigan. Harbaugh didn’t give in to NIL, i.e. upfront cash. National title run. In short, teams that try to be a team will do so. NIL decisions (recruits or the portal) must be very carefully made. ND is doing a tremendous job in this area and it should aid the Irish in making Playoff runs over the next few years, injuries withstanding. Here are a few predictions about the playoffs. FSU, UGA, ND, TX, maybe OSU (leaning on NIL too much now), maybe Michigan (in 2025 and beyond; lost too much for 2024), and maybe PSU will be the majority of the teams in the final four over the next few years. A&M is a dark horse with a real coach now, too. Perhaps OU in 2025 or 2026. LSU would be but their defense is a joke. OK ST is the other team that could make a run this year (20 starters back).
You know, I was excited to see what Deion could do, but he and his son are truly acting like jackasses more so recently. like what coach is trying to start a twitter war with a random guy
Any goodwill he builds he eventually destroys because he can’t help but stir the pot to keep himself in the spotlight. It is a glaring blind spot for him that he ignores at his own peril. This act is going to (has already?) wear thin.
I think he is also out of there after this year. Amd given that he hasnt recruited at all, all the momentum the hire gave them will evaporate the moment he and his sons leave.
Prister said the “prominent player” possibly transferring he referred to was Jayden Thomas, but he opted to stay
Maybe a weird ask but anyone want this? Bought it for my dad years back, he never wore it, it ended up back in my closet just hanging, and now my dad is WAY too large for it. It’s a size large. No cost or anything, I’ll ship it wherever.
I would absolutely love that but I don't think I would be able to explain to my wife how that landed in our wardrobe :) looks awesome though
Freeman has turned ND QB recruiting around so fast that a Loy CB for Noah Grubbs doesn't even get a post until now...that's quite impressive I'd prefer Hart because of the Boggs connection but between the 2 QBs, i'm perfectly happy w/ either
Also too early for me to care about the starter in 2027 or2028. It’s crazy how far back the cycles go now.
