They should do all this build to an Uncle Howdy return and then have him debut as Bo-lieve Bo Dallas again and get squashed by Braun Strowman and written off TV forever. "Funkasaurus" him, if you will.
Cautiously optimistic. Excited about it after seeing the Wyatt doc and how genuine Bo was about this story before Brays health deteriorated. Could be awful but I hope not.
Not excited. Never saw Wyatt until his comeback although the Wyatt family angle would have interested me if I was watching at the time. Supernatural just doesn’t hit like it used to. But that may just be because I’m older now.
I'm in a wait and see mode with the Uncle Howdy stuff. I have always enjoyed Bo and wanted him to be included early on with Bray when it was clear his "Bo Leave" stuff wasn't going to get over because all they did was use him as the Brooklyn Brawler 2.0 Think he's debuts at Backlash... Bray returned at Backlash so it makes sense. Strowman not being part of this is a GOOD thing. My wife loves him but does nothing for me. I don't really want Rowan to be part of it either... idk. I would love Alexa to return with Bo.
I can’t wait for everyone who was part of the incompetence of WCW to yet again blame everyone involved but themselves
The problem is there isn't one answer and there was a lot wrong with WCW, so they can all point to something else that went wrong and be 100% right without having to take their own share of the blame
Hasn't this documentary been made half a dozen times? It's been almost 25 years, everyone has moved on.
It wouldn't be the wrestling business without constantly going back to something that once was popular well past the point of it being something people want to see anymore
The best piece of media about WCW and its demise (without any WWE influence/involvement either) is the book "Nitro" by Guy Evans
Cornette used to shit on Bischoff too, but wonder if he calms that down because they both big targets of aew twitter. Enemy of enemy stuff
They still don't like each other, but not Russo level. Cornette mentioned he's dropped 100+ lbs in the last few years. I really think it's to outlive Russo and piss on his grave.
At the end of the day, Bischoff was just a Turner employee who burnt out and stopped caring. This was Vince’s life. He would have done anything to survive.
I guess if you're a big fucking nerd who has never heard his name before. If only he'd won a Super Bowl in the Tokyo Dome.
Patrick Majones sounds like the real name of one of the luchadors Bryan Danielson was wrestling on Rampage a month ago
We'd probably never see WWE wrestler reactions to this even though they've surely watched it, but would love to see reaction vids from wrestlers from all promotions to the epic greatness of this match. To be a fly on the wall listening to Ospreay, Danielson, and whichever match producer(s) mapping the match out.
Imagine being told you'd be the producer for that match, just sit back and let them two cook up all the ideas and just be like "okay I like where you are going but settle it down a notch we don't want you two dying"
How do you not realize that’s because you and drainmakers news and social media consumption is 99% wrestling? He’s not 100% correct.
You'd be surprised by the amount of people involved in sports who don't give a shit about pronouncing names correct. For example, Dirk Nowitzki went his whole damn career with some national media blatantly pronouncing his last name incorrectly.
With TK seeming to indicate there will be some sort of GM/authority figure with him not being cleared to travel, who do you think it will be? Non-serious answers Jeff Jarrett - he convinced TK to give him an unlimited budget for guitars and anyone up to any shenanigans is getting a guitar shot Nigel McGuinness - he'll stab TK in the back, align with the Elite to get the power backing, then abuse his power to harass that clam digger Danielson the entire time Serious answers Mark Henry, Jerry Lynn, or Big Show - they have "office" jobs and are likely at most of the tapings to begin with
Why are you making excuses for him not knowing how to pronounce the second most famous current NFL players name? First is Kelsey because of Taylor.
Are they going to hide Khan in the back for the next few weeks? He seemed to enjoy getting the crowd excited during his intros for the shows. Would’ve said that Omega the answer as he’s still injured but that wouldn’t be a surprise since he’s announced for the show.
I don't think it needs to be a surprise. Omega is the perfect answer. It gets him back on TV without having to be physical. It should also advance his storyline with The Elite nicely, start that build for Omega/Okada at Wembley. I'd actually be shocked if it was anybody besides him.
I agree it should be him. He’s already a EVP. Think the pop of him showing up unannounced would have been great. If they keep it for the last segment again then everyone will know it’s him. Will still get a pop but not the omg version that bookers seem to love.
they are about to do 3000 less tickets for Winnipeg than they did a year ago, the “moment” of it being a surprise would’ve been great but they probably figured announcing Omega in advance to try and sell more tickets in his home town was the priority. Lord knows Jericho ain’t moving tickets like that in his hometown any more
I know it’s a big country but AEW seems to be in Canada a lot. Could be mistaken as it may seem more so because it’s made a bigger deal due to stars like Edge and Christian being Canadian though.
If AEW doesn’t have Swerve start off the show as a big event they’re gong to waste his title run. Maybe send Page out to push the rivalry and feed to him.
I’m not making excuses. There’s no excuse for anyone in media to get names wrong like that. I’m just saying you’d be surprised how many just don’t give a shit about getting it right.
And yeah I agree Kenny Omega makes the most sense as a GM from a creative standpoint. But based on comments he made on his own Twitch stream it sounds highly doubtful he wants to be traveling every week for AEW right now, plus he still needs to get surgery for diverticulitis. And he’s just not suited for being a GM type character unless he’s got an entirely different gear in him character wise we’ve never seen before.
Okada could make a little sense based on Swerve calling the Elite’s attack on TK a bitch move. But Okada shouldn’t be losing a PPV World title match with less than a month of build, plus he holds the Continental title so would make much sense in that regard.
