This election terrifies me. There’s a lot of justifiable anger towards Biden, but there’s also a ton of privileged people who don’t know or don’t care how much harm Trump is gearing up to do.

A friend sent me a USCIS Reddit post, by an anonymous immigration officer. It just goes to show how much harder ghouls like Stephen Miller want to make peoples lives, and how much good this admin is doing in trying to bring people into legal status.

Lesser of two evils is a reasonable strategy for an individual casting a vote. It should not be an acceptable way to run a political party.

I’m voting for Biden, I feel like I have to say this every 4th post. I think what the protesters and protester voters are doing has been great in changing most Democrats’ opinions on Israel. I hope it’ll make its way to Biden and his campaign soon.

I believe his unwavering support of Netanyahu and Likud and the actions they’ve taken in Israel has been very bad. I wish he hadn’t done so. Prior to this, I would agree that he has not been the lesser of two evils. But damnit, the longer he goes on this course the more I feel that changes. Biden is risking world security to avoid risking turning off part of the Dem party institutional base that is beholden to Israel and it’s lobbyists.

Nothing disingenuous about it. You can't ignore the one "little thing" when its something this horrendous and not little. It overrides everything. This isn't a matter of a policy disagreement or a character flaw its a red line for a lot of people.

Put this way can you imagine an alternate reality where Biden is a perfect president except he's flat out racist. Can you see why some people would never vote for him consequences be damned? And people keep making it seem like the people that don't vote for Biden will be voting for Trump. No in reality they will just check out of the whole process. Would the consequences of that be in favor of Trump ultimately? Absolutely it would. But whose fault would that be? Joe Biden.

The difference between me and you and the people on your side of this argument for the last 500 pages is you seem to think that its the voters fault in that scenario and we will never agree on that.

 

I genuinely feel like the entire course was set in motion once the Hamas attack happened and nothing would've stopped it. I can't remember the specifics of the Saudi(?) tv interview of a Hamas leader (wanna say Khaled Marshall https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Khaled_Mashal) but it kinda crystalized a lot of stuff, the other Arab states largely don't have their back and the leaders just want to stay in power. Both the Hamas attack and Israeli retaliation felt like the war in Iraq in the sense of everything focused on the first move with zero focus on third, fourth, fifth type moves. It's absolutely awful what has happened but ultimately I'm still not sure what we could've done to stop it, Israel has a billion times more independence than what we'd consider client states like Syria as a Russia/Iran client among others.
