I don’t think you need to take her lyrics so literally. An artist taking inspiration for her music is different than just reiterating life events
I know no self reflection will come but it's an album of secret clues and songs with names in the title and one song in the middle where this woman who became a billionaire off creating a parasocial cult following tells her fans to leave her alone. Let me fuck this garbage guy in peace ugh!
I like TS and I certainly don't know the details of her personal life but at least the reaction from some of her fans that every guy she dated should be considered this huge shitbag is not good.
I think people get a bit wrapped up in what a song is allegedly about, particularly in Taylor's case. Obviously she's writing specifically about her experiences and that is relevant but the lyrics themselves are usually pretty vague and general. She pretty clearly uses her writing as a way to process her own life but a lot of it is relatable which is a big part of why she's so popular. I don't think they're meant to be taken as messages from her about her specific life experiences
I think you're right, but it's what people do. They over analyze every lyric, and try to find hidden meanings that usually aren't there. Not EVERYTHING is a metaphor. But, seeing peoples theories is pretty fun.
I’ve never put on a Taylor Swift song until today. Listened to the first two songs. I like the lyrics and their rambling style, but the music very basic and boring.
Wasn’t being critical or anything, that’s just what she’s overwhelmingly known for. Don’t think anybody considers her particularly musically gifted, but she’s one of, if not the best, lyricists of this generation.
I like several of her songs and this is a nerdy critique but her chord progressions are very by the book.
I like T Swift but the lyrics on this album seem like something a 13 year old would write. Even the most diehard swifties seem to be struggling with this one
My reaction to people who want to go camping is I don't want cosplay like we live in the 19th century
I dunno, some of it comes across like they're not about her direct experiences but maybe creating scenarios where she's not the subject of a song.
Can I get a list of every TS song and who they are about? Isthere an Excel I can get a link to or something?
I’ve realized today that some people have insane parasocial relationships with their favorite artists and need to seek therapy doxxing people because they don’t like an album
Google it. Shit. https://www.yourtango.com/2021341576/list-people-taylor-swift-has-written-songs-about
It’s crazy how fast the weirdo “hidden in plain sight” posts and videos about this song popped up on social media claiming this is her admitting to being a witch and/or their relationship is part of satanic Illuminati plans. In reality, she was probably just describing it as being magical, and alchemy opens up way more rhyming possibilities. But props to her, and it would be hilarious, if she is trolling those nut jobs.
