We went to NOLA Poboys when we were down there in January, and it was incredible. I would have absolutely given up one of our fancier meals to eat there again.
Good to see others enjoy it as well, I never see it in the “Best Poboy” lists you see online and feel like it’s an overlooked spot
Currently trying to narrow down choices for late night Jazz Fest shows. Looks like I can take shows at Republic off the spreadsheet https://www.nola.com/news/crime_pol...8-277a0a90b33a.html#tncms-source=featured-top
Reservations for Paladar, Herbsaint, and Galatoire's next week. Also for Bar Marilou prior to Paladar. Having a tough time with late nights, though
Agreed. Notice how Eddie Roberts is first choice Thursday and Sunday, strong contender on Friday, and 100% going to the late late show Saturday night, which is always a hoot. He's so damn good I might follow him around town
Primary reason NMS aren't #1 on Friday is because I am trying to make it to the Maple Leaf one night to see if I can find the brick I purchased during COVID
My business partner was mugged , knocked out, and his phone and wallet were stolen in the CBD . Was on the way from the quarter to his hotel when it happened. He was with another person who was also knocked out and robbed. They spent about $10k on our business and his personal accounts before he could get them all shut down. Business parter was bruised up but his friend's face was fucked up. Last year in the quarter at night some random folks tried to mug one of my friends after everyone separated and went to their respective hotels. He was able to swat them away and escape.
Not sure on what part of CBD and it was late night , sounds like around 1AM. Definitely not smart to be out by yourself at that time of night in NOLA. But with 2 people I thought you'd be ok.
Yeah my advice to anyone is that if it’s night time, don’t take extended walk abouts ESPECIALLY late night. Take Uber or Lyft to your destination. Also, if it’s late night and I call an Uber/lyft, I’m using that safety code to give to the driver. You do not want to get in the wrong car late night in this city I can promise you
Yeah New Orleans is not lit up at night. We don’t have big street lights, rather the lantern type street lights that aren’t bright. And half of em don’t even work
Man what a Jazzfest. Ate like kings and partied way too much. Yesterday was rough. Chris Stapleton was amazing, I'm not the biggest country guy but he's a ridiculous talent. Great show. Anderson .Paak was electric -- been wanting to see him for years and they lived up to the hype. Come Down was one of the hardest songs I've seen live, was electic. Suede is one of my favorite songs ever, loved it. We were also at Blue Nile one night seeing a guitarist, and they brought Paak out to do drums -- no announcement or anything, he just sat-in for a few songs. My friend recognized him first, "holy shit is that Paak?!" Was a super cool experience.
