T Knighton easily one of the best asst coaches we have and I am basing this off social media and how his players talk about him.
It's gonna be a dog fight between DL and secondary this year. But in the end they will all die and go to heaven. I refuse to choose between Knighton and Cooper and we aren't nearly cool enough to deserve either
I am indifferent on our secondary. I think they are above average athletes, with not much skill and that shit gets you beat against good teams. We think guys like Quentin Newsome are good players, when in reality, not so much.
Gifford and Hill are NFL players. Some of these new kids are gonna wreck something and Cooper is gonna have that unit about 30 deep all being able to play eachother's positions. We won't really remember Newsome by midseason
Gifford and Hill are dawgs. Gifford probably a fringe practice squad player though. Gifford, Hill, and Singleton were by far the highlights of the secondary last year. However I don't think anyone besides the 3 mentioned have proven themselves. I guess you can include Buford, but again I don't think he's anything special. Most improved unit on the team by the end of the year? Possibly. Best unit? highly doubtful.
I don't even know who the best player in the secondary will be by the end of the year, but 50% is someone we don't even really know about yet who's still in puppy school. Loads of talent. Cooper is the best position coach. My bet is secondary is best unit on the team by end of the year. Mainly just on a hunch
I love your conviction, but that front 6/7 is going to eat all year long and of course your less talented secondary will get the benefit.
Last I checked Jack was still alive so maybe it works and maybe we should let all the kids run for touchdowns at spring games.
