If you lie to be on a jury in a case of this magnitude and of this level of public concern, you will 100% get caught. If they don’t figure it out and strike you, you’ll likely end up forcing a mistrial or a reversal of the conviction and going to prison. It doesn’t matter if it’s Clay Travis or one of our esteemed posters, suggesting infiltration of the jury is fucking stupid.
It's a pretty easy hedge. Yes, I can set aside my biases and render a fair and impartial verdict. I would be happy to evaluate the merits of Trump's defense, but I seriously doubt he has one to make in Court.
Ok here's my plan... - Move to Manhattan - Get randomly selected for the Trump jury (chances have to be pretty good right? how many people live in NYC anyway?) - commit perjury I'm not sure what happens next but wish me luck

My biggest fear about this case is a juror thinking he’s going the right thing and blowing it the fuck up. Juries are the great equalizer, and they’ll be fucking gone if there’s any real evidence of tampering by the government/government’s side here.
They filed it late last night. Essentially said that Trump has an account with exactly $175M in cash in it that is pledged to KSIC that KSIC can exercise control over. Which immediately begs the question, why does he need KSIC if he has an account with $175M in cash.
I think most of us fall into that trap of assuming the general public follows politics even half as close as we do. I’d bet a vast majority of the jury pool has no clue why Trump is sitting in the court room.
Right, but the defense would be forced to use one of its strikes. Hard to see a Judge striking a juror for cause who states he/she can set aside any biases. Granted, if they have our posting history and can confirm our identity, that would be interesting.
Has Trump told the court that he doesn’t have the cash to pay the bond already? Considering Trump was convicted of fraud, I hope the court does the right thing and protects KSIC of falling victim to another Trump crime.
Happens all the time. In most jurisdictions, you can’t “rehab” a juror who shows a clear bias, and a refusal of a good for-cause strike is grounds for reversal.
I'm aware it can happen, but most people don't fully disclose their bias in such an overt way. I certainly wouldn't if I were part of the pool. I also don't think that constitutes perjury. I do get your ultimate point. Being such a high profile case, there should be no unnecessary risk of mistrial or overturn on appeal.
Saying “I’d try to be unbiased” isn’t perjury. Denying message board posts wishing prison upon Trump would be. I can’t imagine a voir dire that doesn’t ask questions that require answers to the latter.

It’d be tough to be completely unbiased knowing the factual stories of Trump being a scumbag. Not to mention knowing about his other ongoing criminal cases that may lead any logical person to conclude he’s dishonest.
Always been low-key hilarious to me that Trump's hometown votes for his opponent at approaching a 90% clip. I grew up in a small town which is obviously v different but anything you do being met by resounding boos from your hometown kills me

I keep thinking this ends with a hung jury, but the great thing about every Trumpster I know is that can’t shut the fuck up on social media, so they should be able to weed these people out.
