He has a rough start last season. But it sure seems a lot worse this year. He’s probably the guy you release when Steele is ready to return. Brown looked electric last night
I know it's early in the season but Matt Shaw is 8/20 with 3 HRs, a triple, and 6 walks at Tennessee.
Just got hit by a pitch and stole his 3rd base of the season. Gonna be in Iowa real soon at this rate.
I know this is putting the cart way before the horse, but it’s going to be really interesting how they allocate games next season when PCA, Shaw and Caissie should all be up. Feel like someone is going to have to get moved (it’s Ian Happ)
Some sweet views from today Love the setup around the stadiums in Seattle It will always crack me up how many stadiums have to implore their fans to cheer in pivotal moments. Had a few confused Mariners fans around me "they're chanting let's go cubbies?" I did not win the 50/50
Canario reportedly being called up. It looked like Suzuki might’ve tweaked something yesterday. I wonder if he s going to the IL.
I don't know how many more times you can throw Hendricks out there. Need Steele and Taillon back. Horton needs some more starts before he gets the call.
It’s sad that its embarrassing that they keep trotting him out there. I guess it’s less embarrassing to them than admitting they spent $16.5 million on a worthless pitcher.
I continue to fear that Matt Mervis is a AAAA player and bringing him back up only showcases that and hurts any trade value he has. Wisdom and Cooper were ultimately redundant but I don’t love giving up cooper for nothing. Not the end of the world but not sure they played this one right
I think that’s already confirmed, the analytics have never liked Mervis and he’s proven them right each time he’s been called up. I don’t think he really had much trade value left anyways.
He’s had less than 100 ABs. Can we wait till he gets a full season of ABs before we say he’s worthless.
He got cut. He and wisdom essentially do the same thing but they apparently like wisdom more (not sure I agree with that sentiment). The fucked up thing is that wisdom has options so they could’ve just sent wisdom down and tried to at least trade cooper or something. Especially when the Red Sox just lost their first baseman and their gm worked for the cubs less than a year ago. But whatever
What a weird season this has been. A bunch of nightmare things have happened, but they’re 15-9 while playing a pretty difficult schedule
Hahaha I went to the Smokies game last night and was like "holy shit he's battling like .228" Also there's a non-zero chance a future Cub injured a carnie last night. The carnival was setting up behind the stadium and all their trailers back up to left field. One player hit a shot into carnie land. They hit like 5 HR last night. Think Triantos had 2.
