Wiltfong says he’s probably reclassifying. He likes where Ohio State stands and thinks they might even lead. I’ll believe it when I see it, but I do think NIL has at least allowed them to get in on guys like this who in the past they would have had zero chance at landing.
If we get the #1 DT in the country out of Louisiana then the end of times is even closer than anticipated.
With Saban gone and Brian Kelly at LSU this is the perfect opportunity to get back down to the gulf recruiting wise Buy a few oil wells and use that to fund their NIL deals I’ll never go electric if we do that
Call it the Julian Sayin high octane offense buckeye gas. Sell it at giant eagle gas stations and tylersmyth would fill his 2001 BMW 3 series up with it religiously
I think I’ve told this story before on here, but I can’t help but think of the 2007 Minnesota game in the Metrodome when his name is mentioned. He played the first series and then limped off “injured”. He proceeded to dance around the bench area for the remaining 3.5 quarters. He simply had zero desire to play that night. Zero injury at all…just wanted a night off.
I will not get excited about spring game as it always disappoints but want a flash of JJ and Sayin Bless up goose, good job getting hammered by 8
The best part of the Spring game is that some random blows up almost every year and never is heard from again. We occasionally get a Michael Thomas showing stardom. We more often award a Bam Childress Player of the Game. Kye Stokes was my superstar.
Stokes is a good call, Torrance Gibson at WR, too, only to never be head from again on the field for OSU
Also, Justin Fields was horrible in his first Spring Game which led to some silly overreactions from the H8TRs
I saw that earlier and couldn't tell if he was being serious or trying to sound sarcastic by stating the obvious
If they do end up losing 5-8 guys in the spring portal, i wonder if they'll just put Caffey on scholarship for the next year and then try to add some more depth via the portal with the other open spots
So we jumped from being one of just three schools with $9m+ assistant salary pool to $11m+ this season. Just blew right past $10m+. Between that and the NIL money spent on keeping guys from leaving early and grabbing people like Downs out of the portal, this is going to be quite an expensive season.
Appears Frye donated $200K to the cause .... Offensive line coach Justin Frye’s salary was bumped up to $1 million in 2023, but the contract distributed by Ohio State on Friday does not include any mention of that increase. Frye, the only assistant whose contract is set to end after this season, would make a base salary of $800,000 under the terms of his original contract.
